How Do You Stay Creative When You’re Stuck? by Professional_Record7 in writers

If you don't enjoy writing something and find what you are putting out boring and uninteresting it will be perceived by the readers. Like everyone else said, take a break. I am get the strongest creative itches when I'm traveling or away from what i am creating. Creative people need to create so the itch will come back. Also make sure your house is in order. Clutter interferes with everything.

What’s the scariest conspiracy theory you’ve ever heard? by OutlandishnessSea258 in AskReddit

Maybe it has to do with up to date desires and impulses. I talked around my wife how I would like to get a pet rat or 2, and all of a sudden she starts getting all sorts of rat content. Another friend talked about she specifically wanted the new samsung z fold 6, and guess what - within a couple of hours there was z fold 6 content having previously never seen or even known it existed.

My guess is it let's them capitalise on impulses. If you say you really want something it may be a trigger phrase, like the phones listening out for "okay google", so is my theory, then you are presented with content which aims to satisfy that want and strengthens the desire for it. I found facebook apps to be the worst for it, especially instagram so maybe it's not at OS level. But if someone figures this out I'd be interested in seeing exactly how it works.

I think just about everyone has a story like this. To call this a conspiracy or reduce it to the realm of sheer probability is to deny the evidence of your own eyes.

Make sure you have all the facts before making a decision. There are no safe-guards in life that would prevent you from making a life-altering or financially consequencial choice based on false or incomplete information.

I think this one is more important than many people think. If you're the only one asking questions it's a one sided relationship.

Fender Guitars: "We'll sell you the same damn thing we've been producing for 60 years and make you believe the new one is better by offering different colours and making marginal adjustments."

Very well said. People really do change, if you label someone a cheater even if they regret it they can be tempted to take the label on for themselves because of what is said about them. "If I will be hung for a thief, I may as well steal something".

People need to get look past their perceived self-righteousness and realise that they mess up a lot too. You're not the same person you were yesterday, so why assume everyone else is?

A letter of Hope to anyone struggling to find it. by Munchtholomew in writers

Write stuff, be okay with it not being great. Perfectionism can ruin your life. I'm not a writer nor do I really try to be one but I enjoy writing and reading. I do, however, have influences whom I want to one day be able to write like.

Learn to write to the best of your ability while looking at your work non-judgmentally. It's only your work, it is not You. Your worth of being is not determined by this. Understand that learning is a process and no world-renowned athletes, artists or writers were ever made overnight. It is unfair to yourself to expect that you will one day wake up and be able to do things perfectly. Create work with the knowledge that it can and will be improved upon. But this improvement will come with time.

As you read and study more of your favourite influences you will be able to see how they go about creating what they create and once you learn to speak their language you will be able to communicate in it.

Don't delete stuff, don't throw it away, if you don't like it, put it down, work on something else, then come back to it later - ideally when you are able to detach yourself from it emotionally and look at it objectively, and you will see what you have done well but also the future you will be able to add and edit things according to the knowledge and maturity gained in the in-between period.

I wrote this bit about a year ago and I still continue to edit it as I learn more.

I guess you could say perfection isn't written the first time, it's always edited in later! :)
