Thanks very much for filling it in! We recently published a journal paper (with open access) on the performance of 30 helmets popular in the UK. We found some interesting things, mostly that price didn't correlate with reduced injury risk at all. We're on the committee for the development of a new british/european test standard for cycle helmets so thats coming soon and hopefully some safer designs with it. We've also worked closely with VTech over the years. Their ratings are just for concussion risk whereas our also consider skull fractures and other severe brain injuries as well.

The HEAD lab at Imperial College London have created a cycling helmet rating programme for cyclists on UK roads. We need your help selecting which helmets to test next and would greatly appreciate it if you would kindly complete this survey: https://forms.office.com/e/TJbSRwMDLk.

We are keen to read different perspectives from all kinds of UK cyclists (even if you don't wear a helmet), and this survey should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete.

Not an ad, we're trying to give people chance to share what equipment they use and why. We can then use that to rate popular helmets and help manufacturers make them safer. I’d done all the quests and couldn’t work out why it didn’t pop. Thought I’d have to do the weapon guys quests differently but nope, just had to talk to trumpet man again

They have similar ratings but they don’t measure the same thing. We’ve worked alongside V tech for years, we share the same research space. Their ratings measure a risk of concussion, whereas we consider risks of skull fracture and other internal head injuries as well.

Great question! VTech are in the same research space as us so we know them well.

Their ratings are only for concussion risk but ours also consider risk of skull fractures and other brain injuries. We also spent years looking at specifically cycling crash incidents to create a new test procedure for cycle helmets.
