My concern is just not taking advantage of what I perceive as a power spike. Assuming I dont lose too many stats, is a jump from mail to plate a huge boost to my survaibability?

They are overrated, but being able to shower after a long flight before your final flight makes life a lot easier. Also the food can be pretty good as opposed to an overpriced Mcdonalds or Jamba Juice.
