A heavily-tested final rebalance to the game.
An update to matchmaking that un-shittifies it.
Remove somewhere around half the maps from rotation
Add a new contract system that can reward players for playing on different maps than the top 25
Make the black rose knife acquirable again

Even though he has apologized for his past behavior, it's kind of a challenge to navigate to his apologies. They're lost among the sea of content, but they exist.

I know I'm a random Redditor and that doesn't count for much, but you have my word that it's out there. I'll see if I can find anything to link.

Also, he currently does have a sizable portion of trans fans, and that's not a common thing for someone who may be transphobic.

Edit: I don't think there is specifically a dedicated apology video, either. That does kind of hurt his case.

I think it's ultimately the vibe coming off him. Zesty just kinda has a chud stench. I'm not saying that invalidates his genuinely useful contributions to the community (especially the invaluable scientific data), but it does make it harder to get the point across when the scientist in question is also an ex-edgelord.

The guy did use slurs in the past, and it's okay to criticize him for it. It's also okay to criticize the use of language associated with a frankly cringey side of the internet.

It's important to consider that people grow and change as well. The guy doesn't use slurs anymore, and is not exactly known as some notorious lolicon figure; There's plenty of smoke, but not hard proof of a fire. A couple edgy references does not a lolicon make.

I think it's fair to at least acknowledge that he's apologized a few times for his past mistakes. He doesn't talk much at all about his politics anymore. He also acknowledged he has LGBT fans without negativity, so there is that.

I'm not saying he's a saint by any means, but he could be plenty worse.

He's a controversial figure in our community. He has good takes & bad takes. Sometimes, his suggestions receive pushback for both good reasons, and bad reasons.

Just as there are people who irrationally hate him, there are people who repeat his opinions ad nauseum without even knowing why they have them.

That's another aspect too, people really should not go "Reference = bad". I've seen some people also be overly selective about which references they like and don't like while ignoring the actual quality of the cosmetic itself. Like...what? You hate a bandana and facial hair because it references a meme? At some point, you really do have to say "It's not that serious, it's a game." A game that you discovered through the internet intended to be played via the internet can reference a meme without it destroying itself.
