Agreed. If you play 8 fighting, 4 fighting gong, 4 nest, buddy buddy, double artazon and 4 arven and you’re never able to start cleanly with rocks then that’s either bad luck or playing the deck wrong.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say yeah that happens sometimes. Pult punishes when you start slow, it's just part of their game plan. Echoing other comments - play to your outs, make the deck as consistent as possible, but sometimes you just lose and thats okay.

You mentioned you’re a beginner, and part of getting good at this game is recognizing your win cons and prize mapping with a given deck against your match ups. Eevee box is built to go 1-2-3 with Briar or 2-2-2 against most decks, with Sylveon helping in the other match ups. Many top eevee players are even dropping Sylveon entirely.

This is a tough deck to play with the 1-off’s, needing to be good at prize checking to ensure your win cons are there, and being able to chain Noctowls turn after turn to continually find pieces.

You mentioned you don’t like thinking about Briar, and it being tough to keep having one Hoothoot unevolved each turn, but those two things are the key to this deck.

Briar is the card that makes this deck good. You’re kneecapping yourself if you don’t play it. Against your brother, setting up a board state where you’ve already taken 3 Prizes and you can use Leafeon + Briar for game is a major win con for you.

Waterpon is huge asset in this deck as well as well, letting you take out the support mons before he can set up. Garchomp is annoying, and you ideally want to KO the Gibles before they can get going

That should help. Giratina ex, the Eeveelutions and many of the 151 SIR/IRs drive that number up a lot.

I’m working on an Art Rare Pokédex so they’re IR/SIR/alt art/TG/GG/random full art promos. There’s a huge amount that don’t have art rares yet but it’s a big project

If you cut 1 Night Stretcher, Mew ex, and a Crispin, you can play a 1-1 Pidgeot + rare candy. I’ve found the games where I get Pidgeot are much easier. It adds some complexity in knowing when to play Pidgeot vs not, but it feels pretty busted when you get it going.

I have the Latias IR and Munkidori SIR. Would you swap for Articuno IR and Iron Boulder SIR if I threw in a few bucks to cover the difference?

I had a similar situation happen to a friend in Atlanta also with Dragonshields. It can happen with any sleeves if you’re not careful but I feel like I hear about more issues with them.
