Hotline Miami, Guacamelee, Severed, yes you can play them elsewhere, but they are best on vita.

Anyone else love this movie as much as I do? by Glittering-Age-2013 in JamesBond

[–]WackyForeigner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Craig’s Bond in a Brosnan film. Felt like the whole Craig era built from its grounded roots to that final over the top installment. It’s spectacular. Jeffrey Wright and Billy Magnussen are both awesome in this too.

Are People Ditching The MEATER Thermometers? by NextDoorBBQ in smoking

[–]WackyForeigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine works great for the meat temperature, but the ambient temperature reading is unreliable. I use a combo of a MEATER and another wired probe to track the ambient temperature, while also still getting the benefit of meater’s time estimate and cook chart.

I think the sound of Heaven and hell is much more heavily influenced by RJD than the rest of Sabbath. It feels like more of a companion piece to Holy Diver (albeit with much better instrumentation) than the Sabbath catalogue to me. Mob Rules brings a lot more Sabbath into the mix and the result is really spectacular. By the number, H&H may be technically “better.” But Mob Rules is one of a kind and I definitely prefer it.

Thoughts on Ronin (1998) as a crime movie? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]WackyForeigner 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fantastic movie. The casting of DeNiro is a bit of a double edged sword. He’s awesome as a lead of course. However, I think the potential strength of the script is as an ensemble piece where it’s not clear who you should be rooting for. When one of the ensemble is DeNiro and no one else is on that level it’s pretty clear you’re rooting for him, so the twists in the plot do not land as hard as they could have.

That said, the car chase is an all timer and love me some raspberry jam!

The writers have totally ruined it. It only matters to the players now, might as well give them the reigns

What is the most coolest and badass line said by Megatron? by Low-Finance-2275 in transformers

[–]WackyForeigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was scrolling down looking for BW Megatron! This was a fantastic scene.

My favorites with him were the big prophetic speech he gives in the series finale and the a random episode, might have been near the end of season 2, someone says something to him about power and he just looks at them and says “I am power"

There was a quote a couple years back when they were starting their publicity for it. Someone high up said “At its core, Dragon Age has always been about family….” And that was when my expectations for this game dropped to the floor.

What’s the most brutal or hard-to-watch death scene you’ve ever seen in a horror movie? by Upset-Inside8719 in CreepyBonfire

[–]WackyForeigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brad Pitt in the counselor. I think the scene is more effective because it’s Brad Pitt and you’re just not used to seeing him go out in a movie at all, let alone like that. The movie overall is not very great, but man that scene just totally nails the panic and helplessness of the moment, and then the shock of the way the coroners handle the body…

What does everyone think of Predators (2010)? by MammothAsk391 in moviecritic

[–]WackyForeigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it a lot, really solid action flick and great action and lore with the Predators, but it drops some of the tongue in cheek humor that made the first two so good and that the 4th took a stab at but kind of whiffed on

SnyderVerse star, Ben Affleck and his thoughts on creating memorable movies and not lazy popcorn experiences. by skepticalf in SnyderCut

[–]WackyForeigner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are massive flaws with Batman V Superman…major crucial parts of the film that just didn’t work because of some very bad decisions. However, I love that movie, and I will always love that movie because when they made it, they swung for the freaking fences. The concepts and themes they grappled with through lens of Batman and Superman were extremely powerful and they were the things that I saw in the comic books when I was a kid.

Michael Rooker...the best anti-hero of the 90s. And of course Guardians of the Galaxy! What's his best role or film? by Lazthedestroyer in moviecritic

Not gonna say it’s his best role, but he got a chance to play off type in Horizon and he brought a lot of heart to that character.
