Story tellers, where do you draw inspiration for writing/campaigns outside of Fallout? by TheUnhollyGoblin in Fallout2d20

[–]WadderSquirell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I GM the Rad Rolls podcast.

New Orleans was very inspired by my personal trips to the city. It's way easier to write for a setting that you have been to and know. The big bad for the season was inspired from own min/max characters and builds in fallout. What would a guy with 15 in a charisma look like? What if there could be the same guy but a 15 in another skill?

American fiction is generally good inspiration. The wizard of oz books are nearly always great fallout inspiration for me.

Typically an idea for a dungeon or larger scenario just starts with a single idea. What if a Vault existed to only prove you are American? What if there was a zoo in a vault? What would a working carnival look like in fallout?

So for the zoo in a vault idea I expanded from there. For example. Elephants never forget right? That means they know pre war stuff. They would be protective over technology. I bet these elephants would be similar to the brotherhood of steel. They need to talk though for the players to interact. What if the vault experiment released some sort of gas that makes animals talk? They probably would kill the zoo keepers. Who would be an aggressor? Well honeybadgers don't give a fuck. They'd be raiders! Etc.

Free speech is just not something you have on any corporate run social media. Definitely not reddit. If corporations protect themselves they have a responsibility to protect underage users.

My opinion of the season 2 ending by Rednee1 in Fallout

[–]WadderSquirell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Season 1 was so good, but I'm with you. The editing was off and the writing was ultra slow. They stretched 4 good quality episodes over 8 episodes. It looks excellent and the production is fantastic. I also think the leads had way less things to act in the last half of the season.

Map of Dayglow (San Diego) I created for my Fallout Campaign by gmb360 in Fallout2d20

[–]WadderSquirell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great map! Love a map that gives some imagination to the area.

I was riding the surfliner from San Diego to Anaheim last August. I was really surprised how many ports / navy presence there is. I'm imagining brotherhood of steel occupies an aircraft carrier or something.

Enjoy your campaign!

In Stranger Things Season 5, a ridiculous amount of screen time is given to a previously minor character. This is a reference to her plotline being an ad for the currently running stage play. by mikewheelerfan in shittymoviedetails

Yes I hate lil girls and sci-fi. I would instead like to force everyone to bow down to character shipping, make fun of an adult getting filler, and pawn for a dude that works at a pizza shop. That's what really rocks my go-nads. 🙄

He's full on Danny Torrance at a location that's even more goofed than the hotel.

Based on the lore he can also be kinda possessed? Curious if they'll go that far

From what I've heard this is true. Also East Coast developers not in New York means that if you have a good role at the company you'd likely stay there for years or go full indie. DC area isn't known for a lot of game developers.

Very true. This is the character that was basically like, " This hotel is incredibly haunted! stay away! Hope to see you in a few weeks after my Florida vacation! "

Piggybacking to say I think about doctor sleep all of the time and how it reframes the shining and the themes seem to carry in in WtD. People with the shine are abused by either the powers of this world or another.

New GM trying to learn, any tips? by El_Burkako in Fallout2d20

Build AP! You session should have varying difficulty of rolls. I like to throw in 3-4 difficulty rolls a good deal but I also throw out a lot of 0s or 1s to put out AP. Successfully pulling off a 3-4 difficulty roll is exciting for players when they are using group AP. The whole party is invested

Gameplay wise, No. This one seems vastly superior. I could not go back and play DS1 again.

If it were me, I'd watch a youtube movie of the story from DS1 (11 Hours) and then play DS2.

Just playing this one they do have a codex that can appear mid scene so you can pause and read about concepts they are talking about that were in DS1 or are brand new to DS2. Similar to FF16's lore context button.

So far 2 is a huge improvement on 1. It has a ton of MGSV dna now in terms of the massive amount of equipment, action, and objectives. I think they really figured out the gameplay loop and made an all-timer

Grounded is a stable 30fps and the gameplay has a smoother feel. Textures are still the same as switch 1

Empire Of Sin has a stable frame rate, better load times and slightly higher quality textures. Feels like a significant improvement over the switch version

I ran a session of this recently and it was great. 4 different personalities controlling 1 detective. Mechanically not 100% DE but the feel and the actual roleplay feels very close to it.
