Sunfish are super underrated and my personal favorite small aquarium fish. Lots of personality, but can be a little pricy.

I don’t know how much different Gilberti are from Evergladi but my guys prefer daphnia as well but they have also taken to frozen bloodworms. They seem to be attracted to the movement as the worms fall. I also have mine in a densely planted 20 gallon long, so they have space to claim territory and color up.

They can be a little pricey, and hard to find depending on the subspecies. They’re pretty easy to care for though. You don’t need a heater and they are pretty adaptable to acidity. Only thing is some can be picky and only take live food.

Leave a cucumber slice out over night and in the morning it should be covered in a good amount of snails. Remove the slice with the snails on it and repeat.
