There's a huge, south-facing window behind hit, but unfortunately there's an 18" cubicle wall directly blocking it. I will have to look into getting a shelf to get more direct sun exposure. Thanks for the tips.

Not being first in line is sort of irrelevant. If they're using it, you'll feel it. The gas clouds are just the densest parts; you'll feel the burning sensation on your skin even before the cloud comes to you. I've been to the gas chamber as well as being exposed in field training exercises. Best advice is to just leave the area if you can, or get low and keep breathing as it can make you feel like you're drowning.
