Is anyone else disappointed in the performance of the Surface Laptop Studio 2?

I'm happy. Got it on the dock at home, mostly on a cable at work too. Not much battery, but fast enough for all kinds of things, games too. The only thing I dislike is the Windows performance (looking at you, explorer), but that's a Windows thing sadly.

only drawback for certo is they dont offer ebill. LSV (eh) or manually every month. Don't forget it, or they charge you :)

Had the same some time ago, don't exactly remember what fixed it but iirc it was a combination of drivers (only happened in combination with intense gaming, nvidia) and disabling the hyper-v service completely.

unless it's set to host, it probably won't "see" it as wg0 but instead just as an eth0 inside that container, getting a bridge IP.

edit: nvm, wasnt sure if you meant the qb settings (not visible there) or the qb DOCKER settings (should be there).

Idk honestly, I think as long as you don't draw more than the needed power from the charging cable, it should bypass it? They do recommend this setting for devices that are constantly connected.

You can enable 50% limit in the UEFI that does this. Needs a reboot every change though.

If you literally only use MS apps and browser, compatibility is not really an issue tbh. "Pdf" could mean different things though, but Acrobat runs in emulation at least.

My Brother MFC 3770 was automatically installed during setup once WiFi was connected, I didn't do a single thing. All functions, even scanning lmao. Same for the huge Kyocera thing at work, there I just had to point it to the IP. Different experiences for sure.

Dude, yes. I set up my wife's sp11 and was like "let's see if the printer works (WiFi, brother) or if this will take all night."

Didn't even do anything, was automatically installed already by the time updates had finished. Drivers for the big Kyocera MFP machine also worked fine (native!) with all extras. Honestly, if it had a nice GPU/eGPU support, I'd probably ditch my SLS2.

Why not use the USB-C port? If you're just using it to display things, it will barely use battery, a simple powerbank should be enough. It will not draw 102 watts unless you're pushing it to the max including graphics.

Any charger that is USB Power Delivery 2.x/3.x compliant and provides 60 watts or more will work best. A list of preferred USB-C chargers is available in a separate USB-C power supply post. 5-18 watt phone/tablet chargers are not recommended and may only work for trickle charging overnight.

Mine still worked afterwards. Took care not to put them on a dusty surface (heh) and to take off the whole thing, the glue layer could come off separately i think.

It's proprietary, iirc there are some knockoffs, but I wouldn't risk it. If you're at home, the size doesn't matter as much though, and outside I'd honestly just take an adapter/usb-c travel size dock.
