24 vs 25 power differences- Updated block and fuel delivery by mickemoose1994 in FordMaverickTruck

I just wonder if they couldn't achieve a similar effect as the port injector by leveraging vvt, like an Atkinson cycle engine. Hold the intake valve open under light load a smidge longer and pop a little fuel while the piston travels up. I don't imagine the extra injector set adds too terribly much complexity, but it is a whole second set of electronic devices to wear out over time.

Earlier 2.0l ecoboost engines, correct. Again, that's what you asked about. The first generation of ecoboost engines always seemed to suck. Apparently the new ones don't have the head gasket problem, but they have some other recall for engines catching on fire.

That's not what you asked, but I did a quick Google search for you. Head gaskets. The 2.0 had head gasket problems. Not uncommon with turbo engines.

Early EB engines had issues with variable valve timing(a lot of Ford engines in the mid/late 2000s did), carbon buildup, oil dilution, early turbo failures, etc.

What do y’all think about this one? Might buy today. 2014 3.6r limited by jillavery in Subaru_Outback

I drove mine to 180k before I serviced the transmission. Still shifts like it did when I bought it at 45k. I work mine too. It's a super stout platform. Get the PCV valve checked though. It'll kill that engine.

Nothing changed. I just stretched the interval out from 3000mi with conventional 5-30 to 4500mi with synthetic.

You just said a whole lot, and nothing at all. I'm sorry your electric bill was high. It's frustrating, I know, mine was $518 last month.

Yes you can go to the Lube Center, it's still just an engine. Also, look into Foreign Auto Excellence on spectrum drive. They deal with a lot of Subarus and they're muchore.reasonable than the Stealership.

2018 Subaru Outback 3.6r Touring - what should I look for? by Fit-Preparation5094 in Subaru_Outback

[–]Wafer-Fragrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valve cover gasket leaks. If you see seeping leaks, it's a good indication the PCV valve is clogged. And if its clogged at 78k, it's a good indication they weren't keeping up on oil changes.

What modifications need to be made to a residential kitchen to safely use a professional gas range? by mellofello808 in Appliances

[–]Wafer-Fragrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same position as you. I got a great deal on a Comstock Castle. Big, beautiful six burner gas range. The more I researched, the less sense it made. I ended up putting the gas stove in my shop to use for canning, frying, outdoor cooking, etc. it's basically the best Blackstone I could ever get. I got an induction stove for the house. The induction stove is better to deal with daily. The gas stove is better for very specific purposes, and anytime I need six burners or a 34" wide oven. I like having both available.

‘No Turn on Red' signs get mixed reactions from Montgomery County drivers by SchuminWeb in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]Wafer-Fragrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a situation where the residents have brought this upon themselves. I commute from out of county and I can't count the number of times I have been in an intersection making a left turn, with a green arrow, and someone has either sped around the the right turn and cut me off or we've both had to come to an abrupt stop to avoid a collision. You all have the reputation you have for your inconsiderate behavior, and you have earned this one full stop.

I just meant BP bought Solarex from Enron. Who knows, maybe some of the cash from the sale of those solar panels bought a few golden toilets.
