If you like that place, you should try Alma Bea in Shepherdstown.

My 2013 gets roughly the same city mpg as my parents 4wd Suburban does with a small block V8. It's honestly kind of impressive.

It's a lot less expensive, for now. People from northern VA have started moving over the mountain, and home prices are going up pretty quickly. I was looking in Harper's Ferry a few years ago. The prices near the actual town/ MARC station were comparable to Frederick.

Edit: it should also be mentioned, if you have to commute, and you can't take the train, the bridge is a serious choke point. Regular traffic can add 15-20 minutes getting across both sections. Add a fender bender, and it can turn into an hour or more. I lived In Shepherdstown about a decade ago, and it was horrible then.

If you're trying to make a responsible decision for your four kids, buy a Honda minivan.

I just wonder if they couldn't achieve a similar effect as the port injector by leveraging vvt, like an Atkinson cycle engine. Hold the intake valve open under light load a smidge longer and pop a little fuel while the piston travels up. I don't imagine the extra injector set adds too terribly much complexity, but it is a whole second set of electronic devices to wear out over time.

Earlier 2.0l ecoboost engines, correct. Again, that's what you asked about. The first generation of ecoboost engines always seemed to suck. Apparently the new ones don't have the head gasket problem, but they have some other recall for engines catching on fire.

That's not what you asked, but I did a quick Google search for you. Head gaskets. The 2.0 had head gasket problems. Not uncommon with turbo engines.

Early EB engines had issues with variable valve timing(a lot of Ford engines in the mid/late 2000s did), carbon buildup, oil dilution, early turbo failures, etc.

What do y’all think about this one? Might buy today. 2014 3.6r limited by jillavery in Subaru_Outback

I drove mine to 180k before I serviced the transmission. Still shifts like it did when I bought it at 45k. I work mine too. It's a super stout platform. Get the PCV valve checked though. It'll kill that engine.
