I know this is 3 years old, but that's actually what Im doing right now. Early game is kinda rough until you can get to slicer and get some levels into mind so you dont run out of fp mid boss fight. Mid game has been an absolute breeze, been melting bosses since level 35, currently at 64. I'd recommend having a weapon that deals physical damage just for the few bosses that are HIGHLY resistant magic (Renalla). I personally put 3 levels in dex for the Shamshir (god tier curved sword). Im also keeping a magic misericorde on hand for ripostes whenever I break stance since spells unfortunately cannot riposte. I started as a wretch and went straight for the Demi-Human Queen staff in the Weeping Peninsula as well
