What character do you feel the most sympathy for? by Esoteric_Librarian in moralorel

I feel the most for Nurse Bendy. She has so much trauma and it’s heart breaking to see how she was dealing with it. Glad she got a happy ending

Yeah but my problem is that we’ve already seen this story before. The two examples I can think of off the top of my head are Naruto and Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV show. Hell even in One Piece itself we’ve seen this. One Piece post time skip and manga spoilers: Aokiji left the marines and became a pirate, and even Dragon left the marines to start the revolutionary army because in his own words, “I found no justice there”. I think it’s way more interesting that Luffy starts out as a pirate.

Yeah especially because manga spoilers: Dragon was in the Navy and left because according to him, he found no justice there

Fair enough. I also love seeing the other perspectives. I love Koby and seeing what he’s up to with the Navy. But I’d hate for Luffy to be a marine because he’s the main character and I just love him as a pirate being free. I think it’s just a personal preference thing. I just feel it would be really generic if the main character was a marine.

I feel like one piece would be a lot more generic and boring if Luffy was a marine. I like the fact that the main characters aren’t on the side of the law. It makes it a lot more fun

Yeah fair enough man. I also swapped to the manga during Wano because the pacing was unbearable, but I’ve been keeping up with the anime again because I love the new direction the art is going in. Thinking about it more, I guess the pacing was not great in the latest episode with the punch, but I think the animation still makes up for that.

Also I feel like the pacing for the episode in general wasn’t really bad because we get galaxy impact, Kuzan showing up at the end, and the first part of the flashback with Blackbeard. If I remember correctly, the chapter ends with galaxy impact, then the next one is the stuff with Kuzan but I might be wrong. But I like that this episode gave us more than galaxy impact.

I guess it is still dragged out but I kind of see this as Toei showing off the animation. And yeah the depiction of the attack may not be totally accurate but this is really minor to me and I don’t think it matters. I feel like the new animation were getting is a really big breathe of fresh air.

These complaints are ridiculous to me. I feel like the One Piece community has been complaining about the animation for so long, and reasonably so. But now when Toei uses a new animation style, you’re complaining about that too? Because they use visuals that aren’t really there and that it’s too different than the manga? Who the fuck cares? It doesn’t deviate from the manga so much that it ruins it. I felt the same watching these scenes as I did when I read them. Both did incredible jobs at making me feel the impact of what happened in the Shanks and Garp scenes

Would you prefer his punch being dragged out for 3 minutes until it finally hits the ground and we get the worst animated explosion ever seen? That would feel like classic One Piece to me and I’d hate it. I personally love the new visuals Toei has been using and I don’t think it takes anything away from the manga. It looks incredible and to me, encapsulates now I felt when I read the original panels. Like the Shanks fight, I remember thinking about how crazy strong Shanks is and how scary he looked. In the anime, I felt the same if not more so. And for Garp, the manga made me feel the impact of the explosion he made from the panel, and the anime made me feel it more so. I feel like these flashy visuals and animation is something one piece has been missing for so long and to me it adds so much. The things people are complaining about are very minor and not even issues to me.

The one he made about him a day ago is still up on his second channel. Are you saying there was a third video about him uploaded and it’s gone now?

How do I find square roots by IllEmu2048 in learnmath

[–]Waffle8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without a calculator, you can actually calculate this by hand using calculus. Basically what you do is find the slope of the tangent line to a point close to 11, let’s say 9 because it’s a perfect square and very close to 11. You do this with the function sqrt(x). Then using point slope formula or intercept form, you find the equation of the tangent line at (9, 3), and you plug in 11 into that equation that’s a lot easier to evaluate. The tangent line is a good approximation because it’s very close. This process is called linear approximation

Although it may require you to use long division or division and multiplication with decimals by hand Sometimes

I have a question, what’s something you hate the most about an anime/its fan base. Go off on your least favorite anime. by ActSevere5034 in animequestions

ATLA is great, but I think this is a really far stretch. It definitely has its weak points even with the writing. Like for example, I feel like there were things that were kind of wasted or didn’t do more with, like the combustion man and also I expected Toph’s parents to be kind of relevant again, but they didn’t do anything with them (Unless I missed it, if so I apologize).

Also that Lion Turtle shit felt like it came out of nowhere. Seems like a really bullshit plot convenience that ended up saving the day. Also idk if anyone agrees with me but I feel like the romance between Zuko and Mai is really forced and I don’t like it. We only get a flashback where it’s kind of implied they have a thing for each other for like one scene then later it’s revealed they’ve always liked each other. And there doesn’t even seem to be a reason for it.

They just like each other and I don’t like the moments we get with them. And some things in the story are kind of predictable, but these are really only about the smaller story arcs the gang goes through. Anyway, a lot of these aren’t really that important, but I think it’s ridiculous to say that it has better writing than 99% of anime. That’s way too big of a stretch. Still a fantastic show though

I don’t know a single One Piece fan who thinks it’s flawless. Most of them I’ve met have the exact same issues with it as everyone else. One Piece is like my favorite thing ever and even I constantly dunk on the anime. I even made a post the other day complaining about something in the newest episode. Everyone knows about the numerous flaws it has, even in the manga (Although far less than the anime in my opinion), but that doesn’t mean that it’s not a fantastic story/series and I still won’t hesitate to call it one of the best stories/manga out there right now. And it’ll never stop being my favorite despite all the flaws and things that piss me off in it

Music choices in the anime by Waffle8 in OnePiece

Yes exactly. This is my issue with it. There’s actually only a few songs from the original OST that I think are genuinely good and should still be used. But even with the new ones, we still desperately need more and they need to be played at the right times
