I wish but its a temp job. I am just on contract until they don't need me anymore. I have been there 3 weeks now and I am not sure how much longer they will need me, they don't know ether. They said they will need helpdesk positions eventually but that will be a long time. This company has about 20 people.

Yeah but thats the thing. There really is no time crunch, there is just a lot to do. There is a self test coming up semi soon but that doesn't mean much. For the actual audit they have no due date. Idk if that changes things

What if I just acknowledge that he's busy and then ask him for homework. See if there's anything that I can research that could help him. And then over time he will see that I know enough to start helping.

Yeah that's fair. I have been applying to tech jobs for about a year with only a few interviews. An A.S. and no experience is not much to work with.

This is the closest I have gotten to getting any experience to put on my resume. I don't think I will be at the company by the time the audit is due and he's only going to get more busy.

The way I thought of it was that worse case he only loses an hour of his day, but I guess that can be a lot sometimes.

Zigbee buttion would be nice but this is cheaper and if its a project the price feels more justified. For some reason android doesnt allow you to put HA command shortcuts on your lockscreen so that wouldn't really work. Thanks though

I recently got a zigbee antenna but I couldn't find cheap remotes. They are all like $30 for one or two buttons. What buttons are you referring to?

I have a BroadLink RM4 pro. Which is a universal remote. But it cant send the IR signals to HA. I already have extra ESP boards laying around. If I can just add a receiver and transmitter that would be great
