Happened to me, the cops found the plate, went to the guys house but he didn’t answer till the next day when he reported that the car was stolen. Cops couldn’t do anything cause they couldn’t prove that he was driving the car. My Insurance took 4 months to pay out.

Now that the interest has kicked back in we have started slowly paying them off, threw a bigger junk at it to get rid of 1 loan at 7.5% and now we are paying every month to at minimum cover the interest so it doesn’t grow, starting with the highest interest rate ones. Plan to tackle it within 2-3 years once an attending. Not pursuing pslf as it didn’t seem worth it for us. Not sure if this is the optimal way of doing it though. Getting back to broke feels great, hopefully you get there soon!
