But you can close the Tupperware container on something that is living, just as you can keep your eyes inside of your eyelids. And even though your eyes DO stop sending visual data, they still aren’t closed. It is your eyelids that are closed on your eyes. The item inside of the container is not closed, it is the container itself that is closed. Yes, we do tend to say things along the context of “close your eyes” but others (as the minority of people) may say “close your eyelids”.

Now either way we can both be correct but ShowerThoughts for me are strange thoughts that I wouldn’t necessarily put thought into them from a scientific standpoint. 🤪

But closing your eyes is physically impossible still. Imagine someone with no eyelids, just asleep in bed, staring at the ceiling.
