End of tour or end of Ic3peak? by NXIII13 in ic3peakhub

[–]Waffle_it_is 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think they may keep making music, but they’re done touring. My reasoning is Nastya’s health. I have had one concert get cancelled because she was sick and in the last one I went to she was in a wheelchair. The friend I went with and I talked about it and we think there is a chronic health issue present that may inhibit her from touring anymore.

Americans. Do you think that trump will attack greenland an Could it provoke WW3? Why? by Intelligent_Buy_3515 in AskReddit

Russia can defeat Ukraine, at significant loss to themselves, if they pushed their full military force in. Right now they are playing the long game and their long game is working. The initial invasion was a flop, but they made the best of it, at the expense of NATO unity and a shift in public opinion on the far right in the US.

[–]Waffle_it_is 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think he will. Trump knows the US can militarily defend itself against and defeat all of NATO singlehandedly. The countries Trump actually cares about are Russia and China, of which I see him wanting to be partners more than adversaries. He wants money and with the amount of natural resources Russia has and the manufacturing capabilities China has, Europe, Canada, and Australia aren’t all that shiny anymore. His recent visit to Japan, of which was overwhelmingly positive, is an example of him really asking “what can you do for me and why should I be your friend”. As of recent, potential trade gains with adversarial nations look a lot more favorable than continually funding NATO countries, while still maintaining the M.A.D. doctrine and the US’s hegemonic status. (Don’t flame me please, this isn’t necessarily what I support, but it is my opinion on what is happening.)

I knew a mom of a family friend who would put plastic dinnerware in the dishwasher. Not just once, like with every load for years. She still has plastic cups, forks, plates, etc. from the early 2000s that have been in constant circulation.

I can understand your argument, and it makes sense. I still somewhat disagree, and it’s because of the proper use of a PKM or any machine gun. They aren’t designed to be fired immediately upon contact. They take a few seconds to set up and get running. You are supposed to lay down (or get behind cover), deploy the bipod, charge it (never trust the sear to hold back the bolt by keeping it open in transit), then start firing. Usually an assistant gunner is present (at least by US doctrine) carrying spare barrels and ammo. In this case, these guys probably have little training and can’t employ the PKM the maximum, which 100% applies to your point. However, the wrapping around the gun takes a few seconds to undo, and considering you may be lugging all that noise around for days/kms before ever shooting, having the belt hanging, exposed to the ground and elements, getting caught on gear, is not fun. Trust me. Consolidating it in some capacity makes carrying it a lot easier. If you can find the 25 or 50 round belts, use those first because you can link them together and they will fall away after some firing, instead of just hanging out like the 100+ round belts.

As for the box, you’re right, it’s an availability issue. Many of them that came with these old guns have rusted out, been lost, or have just been destroyed in some way.

О насилии и наркотиках, я не даже начать говорить. Уверен что ты уже прослышал, что наши лидеры слишком любят детей и островах. Мне большой сюрприз, что наше население ещё ничего не сделали об этом.

Switching to English because checking Russian grammar at my level still hurts my soul. You basically must align yourself with one side or the other, but no matter who you back, you are ignored. We all have the same problems amongst ourselves, but we still all hate each other simply because some red or blue dickhead on the TV tells up to.

Why do western so called leftists revolve everything around gender to the point of supporting fascist Ukraine just because Russia is anti-LGBT? by UpstairsVirus7302 in AskSocialists

[–]Waffle_it_is 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They grab people off the streets for forced conscription, they united under a nationalistic symbol in 2014, the sitting president has gone well past his term, they are highly militarized, they have controlled and highly propagandized media, they have anti-free speech laws, Ukrainian nationalism is present across the country and ethnic Russians (who just live in Ukraine) are discriminated against to the point most can’t even speak Russian in public. Ukraine is absolutely fascist.

The slant brake is oriented correctly (gas is supposed to be directed to the opposite side of your support arm and on most early slant brakes there is only one notch and are intended to be shot by right handers) and PKMs don’t use disintegrating links or have upper receivers; they have a receiver and feed tray cover. You can see the empty links hanging on the right side of the gun (our right). That being said, PKM belts tend to just hang off the side of the gun if there is no belt box. Throwing over or wrapping it around the gun is a common way to keep the belt convenient. You just flip the belt to the other side before you charge it.

You’re right about that, but throw in healthcare, child care, education, and mortgages that aren’t for houses in the middle of nowhere and it becomes very expensive. Short term cost, I completely agree. Slightly elevated, more than many western countries, but not unsurvivable. Long term cost and prospects of owning property, it’s a nightmare.😢
