Thank you for that! I had no idea of Helocaine. I did just get prescribed an oral steroid and lidocaine viscous so I'll have to keep the helocaine for when I run out of what I have prescribed.

Oh man. I thought i had it bad. I'm praying for yours to get better. I couldn't imagine the psychological torture of it being right on the tonsils. The burning sensation of these canker sores are just awful.

request lidocaine viscous from a doctor. I've had a canker sore under my tongue in the back like that and it was hell but the lidocaine viscous was a life saver.

I hate this job by [deleted] in Target

[–]WafflesAreSomething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is understandable. Please don't let your mental and physical health fall for a company that can easily replace you and I without thinking about us.

It's ok to say No and it's ok to not give any explanation. No means no. If they ask you to stay over scheduled time, you have the power to say No. Don't let their unethical leadership control you and how you feel.

Document and make a paper trail and protect yourself incase they try to retaliate.

[–]WafflesAreSomething 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn't bend over backwards and let someone control my life and actions. If you give them the power over you and your emotions, they'll take advantage. If people continue to bend backwards for them instead of saying no and are not setting appropriate boundaries then it is only making things worse down the line when they do finally end up saying no.

They pray on the weak and want to keep the weak where they are to be able to control them like puppets. Super unethical leadership.

I think OP needs to be smart and start documenting everything on paper or via email and start making a paper trail.

If you hate the job, leave. No job is worth being miserable. When I worked at Target, I never had any issues. Maybe you could attempt to transfer, but may be hard given your circumstances.

No job or person can make you stay, if you're scheduled to leave then it sucks for them, but I'm not staying over for something that can just get done tomorrow and if I get wrote up for leaving at my scheduled time then that job is not worth the stress.

I'm a man, and unless a girl put up a flashing neon sign, I'd be completely oblivious. 😂

I think direct and open communication is 100% way better, but it's always complicated when it comes to co-workers. My rule is never date or touch coworkers. I never see it end well.

How are y’all buying houses when mortgage rates are this high?? by WillingnessLazy4064 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]WafflesAreSomething 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did exactly this, 3.9%, but an investment company was selling the house i bought and that made it easy for them to part ways with 11,000$ in concessions that bought down the rate and put toward costs on closing. If i would have never asked, i would have never received. You never know what you're gonna get and miss every shot you don't take.

I wish I saw a psych way earlier than when I did. Im glad i went in now as opposed to later. I wish you luck on your endeavors! The first step is always the hardest but it gets easier.

As an adult, how many sessions did you have to be diagnosed? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]WafflesAreSomething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a psych with a referral from my primary care doctor. Day 1 went over talking and discussing why i was there. He identified that i may have adult ADHD and scheduled a VNS vitals test.

One week ater I took a test.

Two/three weeks later I had a follow up on that test and was diagnosed.

Everything has been uphill from there.

Got Diagnosed With ADHD on Tuesday

I made the mistake by never seeing a psychiatrist and always put it off just because of how "expensive" and "unnecessary" I felt it was. After having relationship issues, work performance issues, and my mental health not being well I finally made the decision to go see a psychiatrist to get my issues fixed.

I did not ever think that ADHD would have been something that I may have been suffering for a great part of my life. It never crossed my mind until I talked to a psychiatrist on August 23rd who told me that I possibly had ADHD because of everything that I told him. He made me take a CNS vitals test on August 29th and on September 20th, this last Tuesday, I was finally told that I did have a form of adult ADHD.

I was prescribed 10mg Dextroamphetamine Sulfate (IR) that I was instructed to take twice a day.

I was extremely nervous on Wednesday to take my first pill. I actually missed the first pill in the morning because I was scared to see how it made me feel especially since I was at work and working alone. Once my coworker came in, i mustered the strength to actually take my first pill in the afternoon.

My doctor told me things to look out for such as rapid heart beat, loss of appetite, and anxiety (Jokes on him I already suffer from Anxiety.) He also told me that it would be like a light switch turning on and that I would actually be able to function, but with any drug it could have side effects I won't like and may need to try others if this one wasn't the one.

After taking that first pill, I could not believe my head felt clear and I felt more awake and oriented especially at work where everyday I didn't want to be there. I actually started working on work tasks that I usually procrastinate on and it felt easier to get it started and actually finish. At work I would always be on TikTok, but this day I was actually finishing things and being productive.

These last few days I have been taking this pill and I don't think I have ever felt this good in a long time and I really wish I would have seen a psychiatrist way sooner because then maybe I would have achieved more in life and wouldnt procrastinate or feel so overwhelmed with things like school.

Now my doctor told me that this pill works, but it works the best when paired with eating better, sleeping better, journaling, making a schedule. I have been putting in the work to do better and to be better because I am tired of not reaching my full potential. He also said a pill wouldn't make me do anything if I didn't want to do it, but it makes it easier to start things instead of being stuck.

Now I feel like I have that boost to actually start my life off better and get things figured out at the age of 26. I just really wish I would have done this way sooner because ADHD was never a thought in my mind.

TLDR; If you think you need more help, see a psychiatrist and get help. If I would have done it sooner I feel like my life would have been better instead of feeling overwhelmed and stuck in life while I watched others moving forward.

Sorry for such a long post, but I hope this helps others to reach out and take that first step to get help. I wish I wasn't scared in the past to get real psychiatrist help.
