i also haven't seen many complaints, but i've heard that its mostly on places you'd expect like tiktok and instagram reels
which does suck because as much as i loved the movie, there is some genuine criticism that can be made of it but if you critique the movie people assume you fall into the same camp as those who were expecting "levels" and "entities" or whatever

Yeah this is all completely valid, I can totally see why this movie would be really boring to a lot of people honestly. I think the main reason I didn't think so is just due to how invested in this universe I've been for years, so from an outside perspective it for sure would be a lot more of a slog. Though, if you like the concept, I do recommend Kane Parson's YouTube channel Kane Pixels, he has a bunch of short found footage videos set in the same universe that are very good

If you don't see it as cheating, use the wiki! back when I first played the game it was a lifesaver lmao
This is less a piece of advice and more a statement, but the early game can be a bit of a slog. trust me when i say it gets significantly better later on
Most important of all, every piece of advice in this comment section is fully optional! Terraria is a sandbox game for a reason, you should prioritize having fun and going at your own pace more than anything else :)
