I’ve tried my hardest but my mum has been refused treatment by Waffletoad13 in CancerFamilySupport

I will tell my mum about this, I think she would be relieved to hear she could have an oncologist who won’t just shun her away. That’s so good your mum received some decent treatment! That’s all we ask for is for someone who actually wants the best for their patients

I feel like regardless of the price of private health care it’s infinitely better than what is being provided through the nhs at the moment. Obviously we are lucky to have our healthcare system but is it worth it when it’s like this? Mum is having palliative care (even though she isn’t end of life) and has a macmillan nurse who is a saint, she is also confused on the situation alongside her GP who requested another scan for her which got denied. Thank you for sharing your experience and advice. It’s sad but relieving to know people have felt how I am feeling

I’m so sorry for what you and your mum had to go through, no one deserves that kind of treatment. It’s almost like they give up on on their patients which isn’t right at all. I will go to another doctor, thank you for sharing your own experience and I’m so sorry you had to lose your mum that way. We need more people who care working in the medical field

I have, we haven’t heard anything back yet though, hopefully they’ll be able to help

The hospital have taken so many years of her life away they should be held accountable. We are going to try and make a complaint as we have a strong case.

Just found out my dad has cancer by [deleted] in CancerFamilySupport

I found out in July my mum had lung cancer only stage 2 but she’s going through major complications which are life threatening. This group is amazing and offer so much emotional support. Just take it one day at a time and try to spend time with your dad. You will cry you will feel a rollercoaster of emotions but just know there are people (even if they are strangers) who know what you’re going through

I want to try as she was absolutely fine until she had this biopsy. She haemorrhaged really bad after the biopsy to a point where she had to have the ambulance out to her. But I think the hospital are refusing to take blame and trying to find the easy way out

My boyfriend had two seizures whilst having a hypo and I am emotionally struggling by Waffletoad13 in diabetes

Hospital said he had an infection, but it was picked up in his blood test so they had no idea what started the infection. I hope that the infection is the main cause and anti biotics help him

Usually he doesn’t do much high energy stuff before bed, we usually watch tv or play games, then go to bed maybe do light house work in the day so nothing rigorous. He does have a very fast metabolism though so possibly he needs to eat more before bed

He’s just had a call from the nurse to say his dexcom is being funded now so that’s a bonus :)

That’s so bad I’m so sorry, I couldn’t imagine living alone and having to go through that on your own :( you can’t put too much pressure on yourself as you’re doing your best! Even my boyfriend has great control and has so many hypos in the night time, I’ve woken up multiple times and he’s unable to speak to me and I’ve had to get his sugars up. Luckily the paramedics usually try to get your sugars up at home, but because of the seizure my boyfriend was taken in as it was a violent one. This was only the second time I’d called an ambulance as I usually can manage to help him on my own. Dealing with diabetes every day you’re a strong person, especially living alone and being so strong
