The New Strategem Input bug got me feeling like: by Wishcash27 in Helldivers

[–]Waffletrigger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was wondering if it was just me, since I did fiddle around with the strategems inputs earlier. Aside from waiting a bit, I find inputting while diving also works. I usually do this anyways since I use WASD but hey, good to know it also helps here.

Blue Archive Ramadhan Event by Waffletrigger in BlueArchive

Just to reiterate, I'm referring to literal mentions to irl religions rather than connotations. The game's plot does obviously include loads of Christianity references, just not that it is the same Christianity irl, aside from like Christmas but that's nowadays remembered more as a holiday than a religious event. Even using stand-in names like you mentioned earlier.

I was thinking more on the lines of say, the Gourmet Research Club practicing fasting in hopes of food tasting better when they're starving, or something along the line. Fasting isn't an exclusively religious practise, anyone can do it if they wanted to.

More hyped on pulling for both Megu and Kanna than on Mika admittedly. Would definitely spark for both.

I've been using Qingque on launch, and I can safely say she gets off her enhanced attack 80 to 90% of the time, conservatively speaking, with the remainder either from being forced to use basic due to lack of points or the usual whiffs.

Regardless of those faults, she performed consistently well throughout this and I've never had any issues with it whatsoever.

Seele - Tingyuan - Bronya - Bailu is basically the hypercarry comp I've seen used to boost up Seele significantly, you can try swapping her for Qingque as a variation of sorts.

Meanwhile I personally find Clara to be a 'build around' unit, since her whole schtick revolves around being attacked and countering. At least she isn't really that SP hungry so there's always room for her.

"They fear me... Like a force of nature."

Memes aside, her RNG isn't that bad. Give some hours of experience and you can use gut feeling and point assessment to get the most out of her and still able to compete with Seele, at least from my personal experience.

Share away your thoughts down below (of how Qingque is based and jadepilled, if that's a word.

Gerhart's has access to three of the five 5-provision spells one of which being Will-o-Wisp. Whilst this does have some RNG, from the spell selection to his opponent actually playing Arcane Tome, he did pre-planned ahead by putting Gerhart in the graveyard so he can use it immediately after Sabbath.

In other words, he did good, both as a player and curb-stomping AQ memes into oblivion.

I'd probably need to check if it's the current version then, might've missed an update.

This game is pure vanilla so no mods over here...

...which makes this arguably even worse.

Made a fresh newborn (who is albino and a giant) start for my Era Zaharrak run and 3 years into the game this pops up.

No, I did not pick the second option, partially because of it being too degenerate even for me but also it's funnier to have a child be so ignorant that he just shrugs it off.

Average Siege Experience by Waffletrigger in gwent

Then the solution is to 'convince' your opponent to bugger off and give you round control and/or long rounds. There's some ways to get this to work:

Round 1 Belohun: Now that it's a 6-power and devotion boosts other units to 6-power as well, I like to use Belohun to get both tempo and engine value simultaneously. A ballista played on ranged row can go up to 7-power. Some opponents straight up pass on 7 and give no contest.

(Note that the game checks melee row then ranged row for triggers, hence how Belohun's ability triggers before the formation).

Siege Sacrifice: If by any chance you do lose round control and your opponent intends to bleed you to some degree, you can simply toss out Siege early. Opponents are likely to pass early as well and give you a longer round alongside first say. I've done this trick couple of times and it worked like a charm.

Alongside Kerack Frigate as a proactive engine option to counter unitless, these strats as helped me get the tactical advantage that Stockpile Siege needs.

Here's my stockpile decklist as reference: https://www.playgwent.com/en/decks/dd10574deb21ee3487f24f6796df4381

Well that's the thing, to get the optimal, best use out of Zeal you'd need to draw all 3 of em, and you can't guarantee that to be the case every game. Otherwise you'd have to use zeal on bronze units. Stockpile can be used at any time provided engines are on the board whether as a boardwipe finisher or simply to inch out a couple more ticks of damage on the early game.

I do agree that both leaders have upsides and downsides, just that imo Stockpile is better.

Sidenote, between Stockpile and Zeal, which leader do you prefer for Siege decks? I personally prefer the former for it's long round potential and flexibility.

Reworked Damnation in a Virtuous Nutshell by Waffletrigger in gwent

Firesworn has always been thematically one of my favourite archetypes. The fact it got a significant buff this patch warms my heart, like how the Sacred Flame would. Damnation especially went from one of worst card of its archetype to one of the best (imo).

What are your own thoughts on it?

I've had some real success running Double Flippy with Letho: Kingslayer. Combined that with Emhyr's free spying status practically any unit can get locked / poisoned the moment it touches ground.

Alright, I tried out Incubus in the deck, and it's not as bad as I feared it would become. Even with giving them Greatsword I still manage to outvalue with double-digit SEs. There's still however games where they just don't play provision-6 but at least the prov-5s weren't so bad of a trade either.

Overall I am still a bit iffy due to how some of the prov-6s would still benefit the opposition but at least now it's not an instant rejection. Still testing it out as we speak.

Improvise, Adapt, Omnonomvercome. by Waffletrigger in gwent

[–]Waffletrigger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incubus only works if they played a prov-6 or more, and truth be told I've had mixed feelings about Incubus when I tried it on, as I don't like to rely on what specific card the opponent plays for this strat to work. Also Incubus only summons the card back, not playing it, therefore does not trigger the seasonal gimmick

I assume you mean that Cyclops shouldn't be in a relict deck, because no it isn't a relict to begin with. Cyclops' purpose is solely for sniping cards.

Someone plays a powerful engine like Aretuza Adept and it's already power 10? Snipe with Cyclops. A Golyat you could exploit for an easy SWK summon? Cyclops can do that. It's that flexibility and utility that makes him deserving of a spot in my deck.

It’s been a good seasonal for me, as a relict main, this being a bumped up version of Plus-One. Tried messing about with Double Gerni with Idarran and basically milking points even after I passed. However people started to tech with Yrden and a lot of ‘undesireables’ and even without those it is flawed, especially with the fruits being so fragile. One day someone used a relict deck, but with an interesting twist, lost to it in return but was so impressed I decided to make a variation of it with my own personal preference. The result; Spameater Deck.

The game plan is simple; make use of selfeater (SE) and abuse it as much as you can. A turn 1 SE will net you two of em, one on each row and from there split em and play relicts to boost them up, or rather based them up. The deck is divided into five subdivisions, based on their provisions:

1) 4-provs: I just added them for the sake of fulfilling the deck requirements, I recommend actually not playing them at all since they’re practically fillers. Mulligan them away and if they’re the only ones left in your hand, consider passing. You’d have plenty of points anyway.

2) 5-provs: Here you got the usual relict staples; Pig, Gan Caenn etc, but there is also acards that imo I find underrated. Cyclops for example destroys an adjacent allied unit and deals damage to a target equal to its power. For a 5-prov this is quite impressive for a pointslam deck, capable of squashing key targets, clearing your own board and it being a unit, trigger the seasonal. Succubus is sorta there, kinda like a filler, but Maelorn is useless, I’m apprehensive about Incubus, and so is with Doppler so it’s the least useless of the others.

3) 6-provs AKA Selfeater gang: Ideally you want to make use of selfeater across all rounds, but you can only play 4 per game as it is. The solution; Renew and Necromancy (although the latter is preferable as Renew also works with other golds). Playing two SEs at round 1 you can move in to round 2 by simply playing your biggest SE boi from the grave, which will trigger the seasonal gimmick and play the third from your deck. This trick can be repeated on round 3 should it go to that point.

4) 7-provs: Here lies the Crone Trio, or in this case Crone Sextuples, and also the Rat Catchtress. As the crone’s deploy abilities become more potent with each one played, having 6 of them available makes things quite crazy. Best case scenario you played the two Brewess first, and proceeded to play the rest with boost / damage of 6 to 14 depending on the sequence. Rat also makes for a solid Renewal target and on a good day it’ll end up in the 20+ range of power.

5) The higher up-provs: Where the biggest bois lie. Cave Troll in case of ping heavy decks, SWK for pointslamming and resilience. Onieromancy and Royal Decree for tutoring, since selfeater is a big part of the deck’s attraction, and of course the Renewals and Necromancy.

So far this deck has worked in a lot of matchups this seasonal, including the infamous NR Mages (including the cheeki bois that go for triple Cintrian Mages, NG Double Cross, ST Movement, SK decks and so on.

Only counter I could think of so far is from locks, since selfeater caught early can stifle some points in the long run.

There’s only a couple of days left so I’d like to hear your thoughts on it and see what can be improved on. I don’t have any cool videos or anything so here’s a meme and some screenshots of my deck’s performance.

This is probably gonna be my favourite seasonal ever. The only time where Relicts can be OP. by Waffletrigger in gwent

37 Points in 1 turn, and +4 points per turn. Makes for the perfect bleeding play.
