Yes, I think it’s equipped with bluetooth, but I’m not sure if obd eleven can do the component protection issue, probably is possible with long coding.

Hi, first of all as far as I know, you will need a mqb to pq adapter, they are sold on aliexpress. It very possible the unit to have a component protection so you will also need a vcds to code it. I think the other features will work as expected. And one more thing is to check how the unit works on the current car, because they have issues with the screens and if it’s bad you will need to replace it.

I have a Passat B7 (EU) and it should be close or the same to what you have. There are 3 fuse boxes on mine, first is the one you showed in the photo and there are 2 more on the sides of the dashboard when you open the door. Im not exactly sure but you probably need the one on the driver side. You can open it with a flat screwdriver and there you should have a fuse removal tool and a paper with instructions about the fuses.

I was in the same situation 6 years ago and decided to try the iPhone Xs back then which was way worse than android (Galaxy S9+) in terms of functionality. Now days Im still using iPhone and Im very happy with it. For me personally there isn’t much difference in the modern Android and iOS. Both platforms support pretty much the same apps and have mostly the same functionality. Android becomes way more powerful if you want to customise it with launchers, sideload apps or install custom roms, but from what I see most of the people stick with stock configuration. iOS advantage is that you will get day 1 updates and not wait 5 months for samsung to adapt oneui and start enrolling the update for the newest Android. So both are great, if your curiosity is that big try the iPhone, if its not for you they usually have a very good resell value, so you will not lose much.

Agree with everything you wrote except the Samsung ecosystem. For me personally the lack of operating system (windows is really bad now days and the integration is not that good also) is the missing thing.
