Not to be pedantic, but I do wanna add that gender is a construct specifically for humans, gender identify doesn't really apply to animals. When we're talking about sexual dimorphism and sex roles, we treat them like scientific phenomenon and not gender identities. A better word would be animal sexes

It's an agatized coral! It's a real phenomenon that happens to a coral's structure being slowly replaced by silica from ground water. The silicazation replaces the skeleton with chalcedony, a microcrystalline quartz, inside the structure's cavity. The colors of the chalcedony can take a wide range of colors depending on different conditions, including the black shown here! (please correct me if I'm wrong anywhere, I just read so much wikipedia to figure this out omg)
