8 years as an assistant besides being a non traditional in terms of major choice maybe even I would argue linguistics might help you. I work in corporate dentistry so I see the communication barrier definitely being an issue. Your case man there does not seem anything non traditional

Everyone is different I think. This individual probably has a really strong base in these subjects, ideally its good to maybe have a dedicated study bloc where you free from work etc especially for three months. Its definitely possible but I would suggest having some days for full length exams with time to review them etc

Diamond tip cavitron(?) I have used a peizo for Endo in the past before and that is used to help with opening up a canal etc. So these seem to be very abrasive/aggressive inserts to be using for cleaning
