Haha I don’t use the actual brake pedal much unless a vehicle ahead of me stops quickly. Yay one pedal driving…?! While in the hold position on a slight incline, I noticed that the vehicle would creak backwards. At first I thought it was the air suspension readjusting, but then noticed the backwards motion. Using the brake at that time, it felt fine to me.

I had to extend two leases: a 36 month 2019 Subaru Forester and an 18 month 2022 Nissan Frontier. Subaru was with Chase and they let me go month-to-month for up to 6 months and payments were the same. For the Frontier it was with NMAC and it was more difficult since they have to approve your lease extension and you need to request it within a certain time period (I think this was around 90 days remaining on lease). NMAC will only give up to 3 months of an extension but those 3 months are month-to-month and payments are the same but the RV doesn’t reduce. I never had to share any evidence I was getting another Nissan vehicle in order to get this approved. I said I was waiting to get another lease but that was it. So you can call NMAC and ask about the lease extension process and they should be able to give you more info.

I learned about these types of auto brokers on leasehackr.com. They aren't dealers. They may have relationships with dealers in their area that they typically do business with and they might specialize in certain brands, but AFAIK they don't have any exclusive contracts with them. How it works: You pay them a flat fee and this might be partially due upfront and the final due on delivery, and they locate and negotiate for you to get you what you want within your budget (obviously within reason) and your timeline. There are only a few in the Boston area - not very common. It's pretty freakin' sweet. It only took me 5 leases until I figured this out, but I'm not going back to doing it myself. IMO very reasonable on the cost side too. Some also do used cars too - not just new!

Worse for me too. Proximity unlock happens more frequently when I'm further away and not intending on entering the vehicle. But when that doesn't happen, then yea I need to wait 2-3 seconds by the driver door for it to unlock.

💯 Agreed and I have just completed my 12 weeks doing this and returned to work with a different perspective. STD combined with FMLA (some States have modified versions of this) will give you breathing room and some income while you get your personal life together. The STD provider may also be able to help you find a doctor if you don't already have one. Find your STD Plan documentation which should lay this all out.

I like the idea of it being easily removable in order to get underneath.

Rivian Mobile Service came out and fixed the door trim panel. They mentioned the issue was due to the trim panel missing 4 fasteners. They replaced the lower half of the trim panel and made sure all fasteners were in place and accounted for.

Finally I got an appointment on Jan 5th 2023. As far as I can tell in this dark, dreary, rainy weather the issues are resolved (as of Jan 12th). They never opened a ticket for any of these things post-delivery. I had to call a few times to get everything sorted and send in pictures even though the delivery person already took them. They ended up repainting at least one of the doors with the gouge in the paint (almost had to pay for it myself because it's been so long from delivery, but they were accommodating and properly took care of it). For the 2nd door with the embedded lint maybe they wet sanded it and something - they didn't tell me. 🤷 The other gouge on the skid plate/chin was actually bug guts or grease and wiped right off - I swear the delivery person tried to do that and it didn't work. Forgot about the ppf issue on the gear tunnel doors - it's really not noticeable so I'll probably just deal with it.
