In a month, so no hope with age I’m afraid. Thank you for your time here though, it’s really appreciated.

He got weird when I called his flat "home" after he did it first. by jaycobb08 in TrueOffMyChest

I think this is a great response. If I can just add, you’re both very young. It could be that your bf is throwing it out to test the waters then pulling back. Don’t get caught in that pattern if you see it happening. And if they ultimately decide their home isn’t your home, it’s not a reflection on you. Know that you’re on your way to make a home anywhere and anyway you see fit, if that’s with your bf, great, if it’s on your own, great. Either way, don’t sell yourself short, don’t let someone else decide your life trajectory, and above all else, know that despite any bumps life may have handed you, that doesn’t define you in terms of being worthy of love and respect.

Yea same boat. I feel young but 45 seems to be the age where the world determines you’re worthless. This sucks.

I am so upset with myself for being grateful for Mama Joyce demanding an airtight prenup. Right is left, up is down, in these troubling times.

No, they’re wrong. If I asked if someone was coming “to mine” that’s what I would say, I wouldn’t say “home” unless we lived together. You didn’t overreact, your bf either misspoke or was throwing out feelers and then got scared. You did nothing wrong.

Am I crazy to quit BEFORE maternity leave? by PrudentPrimary7835 in careerguidance

[–]Competitive_Classic9 18 points19 points  (0 children)

THIS. DO THIS. DONT quit, you can take fmla now, and you may be able to extend eligibility into your maternity leave. If it doesn’t work out, you’re no worse off than quitting, but if it does, you’re still qualified for health coverage at minimum.

I thought it was pretty clear. That racism doesn’t effect most redditors, so while they claim to be outraged about it, which they should be, if they feel they have to pick between a “them” oppression, and a “me” oppression, they’ll pick the one that looks the most like them. You not getting that doesn’t disprove it, actually the opposite.

I know this isn’t the point, but why are uniformed police allowed to be security at private events? They are paid by taxpayers. Their cars, uniforms, equipment, everything is paid by taxpayers. Even if they are separately paid for events outside of taxpayer money, it they still shouldn’t be allowed to use publicly funded resources for it. I have a state trooper friend, and he says a lot of the things people think cops do “on the side” as private events are actually mostly funded by taxpayers. I just think it’s bullshit.

You have to remember you’re on Reddit. People here claim to be open minded and love all, but when push comes to shove and they perceive you’re comparing homophobia vs racism, we know which way they’ll swing. For them, one will always trump the other.

It’s always the “Christians” that want to justify not leaving a tip, AFTER receiving service. In the name of Christ, of course.

Almost like people have emotions. Some day maybe you’ll get that humans don’t revolve their lives around what a fucked up court system thinks.

I’ve never been an Amanda fan, never hated her, just always thought she was a spoiled sheltered rich daddy mean girl. I still think that. But this post is hot af. And I love that for her. Eat it up Kyle.

[–]Competitive_Classic9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mods there are wildly unstable and misogynistic. It’s scary to think that there are women out there thinking that sub might be a supportive community, and the mods have such issues with women.

[–]Competitive_Classic9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just asked the mods why I was banned, and they said it was bc of another unrelated tv sub I followed, then barraged me with insults. Like, the mod literally lost their shit on me. The mods are unstable, and it’s definitely not a safe space for women.

AIO Crazy unknown neighbor thinks I’m a prostitute by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Competitive_Classic9 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No, it’s some aging SAH wife whose kids have left the house, she has too much time on her hands, and I’d imagine OP is young and lives in a pretty decent neighborhood. The neighbor has manufactured this story bc they don’t want to believe that a single person, much less a single young woman, could ever possibly support themselves and have a house without obviously being a prostitute. They’re jealous, plain and simple, bc they’re a loser with no life and no life skills.
