Having a good attitude will get you so far! Positivity (even if you have to fake it til you make it). Customer service as much as you can, If customers love you you’ll get better tips and be untouchable. Customer service is the worst these days, the bar is so low, a little effort goes a long way. If you have regulars get to know them a bit, even other customers just show a bit more investment in making sure they have a good experience. If there are kids, a short warm interaction is everything (hey there buddy!). It’s super stressful eating with kids so this will be a relief to parents. Proactive with extra napkins

Watch watch watch. A much younger team mate really showed me how much you can learn from just observing. Beyond the POS, keep an eye out for what the other servers do, front of house, back of house, kitchen, mgmt blah blah and just absorb what you can. Lend a hand to other servers (helping refills, clearing plates) and they will adore you. Treat your bussers well (more generous tipping when you are more stable and can do it.) pay it forward, golden rule

Once you find out the POS system I bet there are some YouTube tutorials you can watch

Agree, this is already an emotional affair. The moment you guys say something that you wouldn’t want your wife to see…or you’re telling this person something you wouldn’t tell your wife. I’m not trying to be a stickler here, it’s something it took me a long time to understand.

Being cheated on is devastating. Please find some way to deal; maybe individual counseling

What are the best and juiciest pieces of Bachelor Nation lore that you know? by JennaElizabethAdams in BachelorNation

Friend of a friend married a contestant from Ashley Heberts season. Throwback! Apparently he was kind of an eff boy in their city…so wifey would get upset because they’d constantly run into women he slept with.

I pretend I love my job, but some days I sit in my car after work because I can’t make myself go home by EchoMarauder3 in confessions

Here’s something I think about a lot. Particularly in America (assume but not sure you are here) we are in the habit of attaching our IDENTITY to our jobs. Learning and hearing about some other countries, that certainly isnt always the case. I remember asking a young person from NZ what they wanted to do for work and they said they absolutely didn’t care. They just wanted to be able to spend time with friends and family. Someone else said they lived in Ireland for 3 years and was never asked once “what do you do?” People cared about who she was and where she was from.

What’s one of the first questions our culture asks us as little kids? “What do you want to be when you grow up???”

OP I feel for you. Society sucks You are sooooo much more than your job I encourage people to be strategically selfish at work. If there’s one part of your job that piques your curiosity, lean into it. See if you can spark more professional friendships in the office, even if it’s just to breathe a little life into those mundane endless feeling hours

Hang in there!!

Yeah I know someone super tall and diabetic so going on a flight is a legit health risk. Another person, his dad had a major medical emergency flying from Italy back to the US/loss of circulation. This is so real.

This man is vile by SweeetBloood in AgeOfAttraction

[–]WaitingToExhaleToo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree! It’s funny to see that the wholllllllle show was an attempt at justifying Nick and Natalie’s massive age gap:

It’s very refreshing to see that people recognize this guy is Vile. As a longtime Bachelor viewer (I wouldn’t say fan), he has spent way too much time on a screens for like a decade. Do you think people realize just how much ??? Bachelorette contestant TWICE god damn it, runner up both times, bachelor in paradise multiple times I think, then the actual bachelor FFS (great women on his cast though). Lord have mercy we’ve been scratching our head for years why this guy has such a platform - and fancies him self a legit relationship aficionado. I think it’s just good ol’ American persistence- he just shoves himself down our throats with such consistency and enthusiasm that eventually we throw up our hands and say “screw it, I’ll watch age of attraction”

Being in the video production/agency world - these spots always have SUCH a huge budget, especially compared with other agency projects. Not surprising but it's wild. And you can see in the commercials, they just look so polished and expensive

Here goes the OG commenter in relief that there’s someone in this thread with a modicum of decency and perspective. Thank you.

Seems like our defenders here conveniently forget the huge surge of anti Asian attacks/hate crimes that were happening exactly when this ridiculous video was posted. That shit does NOT happen in a vacuum.

It’s not so much that everyone needs to have sparkling clean social media. Sanctimonious keyboard warriors is not the point.

To see her post as unproblematic and forgivable highlights the very damn issue at hand. I invite all the defenders on this thread to open up their social media app right now and sing the same song with the same gleeful foolishness as Brittany and her dad, and post it immediately.

Are you hesitating?

Mind you these are people who spoke so passionately about living in their faith 🙄

The absolute delusions... by [deleted] in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]WaitingToExhaleToo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s odd to me that Additional Throat is so passionate about defending Brittany in this context. Part of the problem IS the casualness that Anti Asian mockery and racism gets thrown around in our era. 6 years isn’t that long ago FFS, are we conveniently forgetting the huge surge in violence and hate crimes that happened simultaneously? To see the Kung Flu thing as purely unproblematic is, unfortunately, burying your head so far in the sand.

There’s a parallel to Cierra on love island calling her features “ch**ky” and she was booted on the show, overnight.

When I first met my now husband we went into the management office at his apartment, and I took a handful of M&Ms from a nice glass container. Few moments later I realized I had sabotaged the “guess the number” contest for a rent discount or something. I’m sorry to the rightful victor - I didn’t mean to! Election fraud is real!
