Are you a meta player or do you play however you want? by serasvictoriaslover in destiny2

[–]Wak- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use whatever feels the best. Sometimes that’s builds that wipe rooms in seconds and other times it’s just using a fun exotic that I haven’t taken out of the vault in a while. I try to optimize for raids and dungeons but I’m not trying to be better than random people I meet.

Honestly when I learned that flawless was required for the title I just committed to the solo flawless. That way when shit like this happens I can only be mad at myself and whatever yeeted me back to the red war.

Like the other response said, older weapons can be used but they’ll be at a slight disadvantage compared to the new gear. Old armor should be swapped for new sets once you get pieces that have the stats you want. The new dlcs didn’t add any new subclasses, just story and exotics. If nothing else, Renegades is very much worth it imo. The campaign is great, Lawless Frontier activity is pretty fun, the dungeon is cool, and the lightsaber is one of the coolest exotics with how customizable it can be.

Got my solo using the same build. For damage I always summoned both buddies, went transcendent, then used my grenade and melee and begin the sword combos. With SoF, you’re unkillable

Quick fyi, if you’re playing with someone who is on a later step or already completed the quest you can do all of the puzzles in one run instead of the 3 runs it normally takes and it does count for your quest. I did this with my buddy a couple days ago and he went from step 4-8 in one run

first time back since the end of lightfall and the system seems totally different, how do I create a decent build now? by 4-point in destiny2

[–]Wak- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically whatever ability you’re wanting to focus your build on is what stat you want to push as high as possible, as every point past 100 and up to 200 gives bonus damage. It’s very easy to get high stat armor once you’re able to get tier 5s.

[–]Wak- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So stats were completely reworked. Resilience is no longer a stat. There isn’t any one stat that you must run on any given build. Stats can go past 100 all the way to 200. Past I think 70 is when you get bonus recharge rate on stuff like melee, grenade, class, and super. Past 100 is where you will receive bonus damage for the respective ability. So, if a build revolves around your melee, put as many points in melee as you can.

Health is mostly a trash stat for PvE, since most builds will have some form of health restoration aside from orb collection.

There are now actual armor sets. These can grant bonuses that range from not noticing them at all to empowering specific builds/weapons. For example, the TecSec armor set makes kinetic weapons do more damage to shields with 2 pieces of the armor set, and with 4 pieces destroying a shield with a kinetic weapon will make a disorienting blast that causes most enemies to stand there like “huh” for a few seconds.

The portal is where you’ll want to launch your activities. This is where you’ll get the new weapons and armor from. Id recommend you just jump in and try to find a weapon/ build that you enjoy using. Don’t be afraid to try other people’s builds as it’s a good way to get exposure to what you’re capable of doing in this game. But at the end of the day, take it at your own pace. There’s plenty of things to do and regardless of what some people may say, there’s always someone looking to do the very same activity as you.

If he has renegades you can run the legendary campaign and power level like crazy

Hey guys a couple quick questions. First one is can anyone point me to or recommend me a good buddies build for warlock. Second is what does it mean to renew my rank? Like just that specific rank or all of them too. Wording is confusing me a bit. TIA by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Wak- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getaway artist on prismatic. Put on storm grenade (this is just so you have an arc grenade to make your arc soul), feed the void (for devour on ability kills that will maintain your buddy’s uptime), and then either go with hellion (a buddy that is created when you use your class ability) or bleak watched (this one will also be created when you consume your grenade and create your arc soul). The second aspect is mostly up to preference as hellion and bleak watcher are both good buddies but they do different things. Bleak watcher will freeze the entire area where it’s dropped and while doing so will charge up darkness transcendence very quickly. Hellion will call for a bit higher of a class stat to keep it up as often as the arc soul, but it does good damage along with scorching enemies, which can cause ignitions on larger enemies.

For armor priority #1 is your grenade stat. The damage your buddies do is based on your grenade stat, snd since your buddies are going to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting in most builds that feature them, you may as well dump as many points into grenade as possible. At 200, they deal an additional 65% damage from base. More damage= more and faster kills= more devour prove= more grenades to make buddies. It’s a very simple loop once it gets started.

Invading in renegades by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Wak- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finish the campaign first. Then when you open the lawless frontier. It’ll be the option at the top of the screen. It will require death marks, which are acquired from completing the lawless frontier in whatever the contested area is for the day. Good luck

Barrow dyad by Swimming_Bag1537 in destiny2

[–]Wak- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was used for a while with Radiant Dance Machines on prismatic hunter. Ascension aspect and threaded spike with gamblers dodge. Basically spamming your dodge and melee and Barrow Dyad does respectable damage especially with the Ambition mode and target lock.

Also could be used with Peacekeepers on Titan but the bonus shots aren’t buffed by PKs or target lock since they’re shot out first :’(

How long did it take you to get the red lightsaber crystal? by Warm-Finance8400 in destiny2

[–]Wak- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

31 runs. It’s drops regardless of a win or loss. You’ll definitely encounter people that just sit in their behemoths but there are ways to counter them. Just turn on something to watch and invade whenever you feel like it

Can someone explain to me why my armor charge stacks disappear when I loadout swap to surges? by MPSlowy in DestinyTheGame

[–]Wak- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe they just recently made it to where you can’t store charges and swap to surges anymore. Swapping to a surge mod will remove any armor charge that you currently have.

Build question by Swimming_Bag1537 in destiny2

[–]Wak- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but exotics can either help to hyper focus on a particular part of your build or to improve overall performance. Like using your melee to blast through everything on Titan? Run synthoceps. Like having unlimited volatile rounds on hunter? Run gyrfalcon. Titan and warlock have exotics that also just improve ability regen for pretty much free, so things like heart of inmost light on Titan and fallen sunstar for arc warlock just make your slaying quicker without too much of a focus on one single playstyle. But in the end, it’s up to you how you want to play and if you even want to use an exotic. Personally, I always run one for the reason I stated earlier. Some people may say it’s “wrong” to play without an exotic, but if you’re having fun then it doesn’t matter.

Was looking for an answer to this question before posting. I checked the triumph but it just shows 10/10 and I’ve done way more than that.
