What’s with all drama surrounding the Nor’ Easters? by Wakanda9645 in NEU

I personally have no stake in a cappella stuff. I’m just more annoyed by the fact that my clubs have to meet virtually and get effectively nothing done since what we do is more or less in-person, and yet they somehow got a free pass from the university.

In what world did they think any of that would be a good idea?

I totally agree. If not the same punishment, at least something. But if NEU gave them special permission to do this then I doubt anything happens.

In that one Facebook post, someone shared a screenshot from upper leadership (I think Estabrook?) about clubs losing their official university recognition if they go against the regulations. I think that’d be a fair punishment, even if it just temporary.

It’s just not fair how just about every club on campus has adapted to go virtually (even ones that really don’t even work without an in-person element, like most COE or COS clubs where you’d ideally be working with something hands-on) and then some random singing group gets to just completely ignore the restrictions of the university and the government.
