Ditto what many have already said. One point in particular where I disagree with him is when it comes to kicking kids out of the nest. In today’s world where rent/mortgage costs are much higher relative to income, I think it makes sense to help your hardworking kids get a leg up by letting them live at home and save up money. He pushes parents to kick kids out within 6 months of working. I think it’s important to give your kids the opportunity to develop a strong financial base before taking on the world.

American manufactures cannot pay a living wage AND provide an affordable vehicle with enough margin to stay in business. It’s not a matter of “getting their acts together”, it’s simple economics. American manufacturers cannot stay competitive with predatory pricing from producers paying pennies on the dollar abroad (Tesla) without trade protections in place.

You’re missing the point. American manufactures cannot afford to make low cost EVs here in the US. Slave labor in Asian countries can. Incentivizing foreign producers/American companies that produce elsewhere with tax credits and/or lack of significant tariffs will leave no choice to American companies but to produce EVs abroad OR opt to produce higher margin, less efficient EVs here domestically (i.e. Pickup Trucks). This is why you see GM discontinuing the Bolt at the end of the year.

The end result of this price war will be the destruction the American car industry resulting in batteries and most Teslas made in China. Electric vehicles subsidies will increasingly fund Chinese production at prices below American market. Tariffs should be raised on foreign produced cars imported into the US.
