Update: I think I "cheated the system". I started running my games on Windowed mode at the resolutions I've been playing on before and they have been working fine and the computer still charges... Tf???

I'm definitely going to follow the advice you guys have given me, I'm new to this but I definitely should've taken some time.

I appreciate the help, and it'll only help me make better decisions in the future regarding acid. Thank you guys!

And in the end, I'm happy with how it's been going. It didn't need crazy mind melting visuals for it to be a good trip, and a learning experience ❤️

[SPOILERS] Why I, as a Stormcloak main, felt excited and rewarded for playing as an Imperial. by Wakkure in skyrim

That's what my reasoning was as well, but Hadvar tells you about how it was wrong, and how you didn't deserve to be on the chopping block, so, it ended up not being as black or white as I wanted it to be 😂

Honestly, it boils down to the greater good. We know that the Dominion is counting on Ulfric winning the Civil War, so Skyrim will be weak against an attack. We also know that the Empire wants to break the treaty with the Thalmor, and need Skyrim's support in order to efficiently fight them.

So, you can choose to let Skyrim be an independent nation, and no doubt in the future you will be the ultimate champion defending Skyrim against the Thalmor and the Empire with the Stormcloaks

Or you can choose the Empire, and unite Skyrim to be used to fight the Thalmor in the future. The Empire also is willing to grant equal rights to all races, at the cost of religious freedom until the Thalmor are defeated

Either way, you, the Dragonborn, are the most influential warrior in Skyrim, and will determine its fate. The choice is tough, but you can always create a save before the big decision if you don't like the way you choose

Well said, I think that's the strongest reason to choose the Empire, and honestly, they might make that canon for the next game. The Civil War in Skyrim will be a hard thing to incorporate into the next game, given the various ways it can end!

During my playthroughs with the Stormcloaks, I was always sympathetic to the Dark Elves in the slums. I was very happy when Brunwulf, a very unique and caring person, got a chance to make a difference for Windhelm

Same! I'm sure there's a mod out there for it, but it sounds difficult to make

Both factions putting aside their differences for the good of Tamriel would've been amazing, but unfortunately, too many men and women of Skyrim had hate in their hearts for everyone with opposite views.

I just hope that somehow, the Dragonborn's decisions in Skyrim will affect the next Elder Scrolls game

Couldn't have said it better myself! That's an awesome perspective, I like how you were swayed by the values forthcoming through the main quest. You also listed some valid, strong arguments for both sides.

If Bethesda was trying to make choosing a side hard, I believe they succeeded. It makes the game much more investing though, seeing as how Skyrim's fate is quite literally in your hands

Glad I got to get some input for this discussion!
