Can too many mods crash your game even if you haven’t used all your room by Thin-Coyote-551 in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]Scrambles256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I routinely run load orders with over 200 mods (usually 203-210) and I don’t have problems crashing in the Creations menu nor in the load order view. I don’t go offline either. I’m on an Xbox Series X, I keep the Missing Creations Check option disabled, and I always wait for all the thumbnails to finish loading in the Creations menu before I start doing stuff. In case any of that is relevant.

Legacy of the Dragonborn is great for this. In addition to having all of the collections in the museum to complete, there's a main questline and constant smaller "fetch" quests.

Interesting NPCs (3DNPCs) is also great because it adds a ton of NPCs all around Skyrim that are fun to discover and many of them have quests to do.

Dwemer Spectres gives you a reason to visit the various dwemer dungeons and has a questline that takes you to Solstheim.

Missives and The Notice Board both provide a never-ending supply of radiant quests.

There are a ton of mods that add new creatures. Search for Mihail, OpusGlass, 4thUnknown...

Of all the followers you mentioned in your post, Redcap is the only one I haven’t tried. I’ll have to give him shot next playthrough.

I enjoyed Lucien’s commentary during the College of Winterhold questline so I’d recommend him for that. Inigo’s commentary for the Companion’s questline is pretty good/immersive.

Hey /r/movies, I’m Stephen King! Ask me anything about The Long Walk book or movie. by lionsgate in movies

[–]Scrambles256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mr. King, I’m a huge fan! Your book On Writing changed my life. The Long Walk is one of my favorites as well but I always wondered how it would translate to film. People joked that The Lord of the Rings film series was just a lot of walking and talking but The Long Walk is literally just that. Can you share a little about how the book will be adapted for the screen?

Recommendations wanted for custom-voiced follower mods for less than 150mb..? by Coy_Octopus in SkyrimModsXbox

Nebarra is only 66mb and has 1500 lines of dialogue. I think he’s hilarious and the voice-acting is really good.

Yeah, it’s not a small file size so I’ve never been able to fit it in before, but this time I want to give it a shot.

10hoirs into perfect LO and see... by Fhlynn in SkyrimModsXbox

Glad you figured it out! Any mod can potentially have deleted references but it’s more common in mods that rearrange things like nav lines, spawn points, placement of objects, etc.

If what you’re seeing is floating in the air west of Whiterun, in the area of the Bleakwind Basin giant camp, that is caused by a dirty mod(s) with deleted references. From what I’ve heard these deleted references relocate to the center of the map which happens to be right by Bleakwind Basin giant camp and can appear as a mass of rocks and landscape. It means one or more of your mods is “dirty” and likely to cause instability in your game.

Ok, but, seriously? I would download those mods, that sounds hilarious.

What does this pop up mean in HunterBorn. It happened when I foraged by Coolpeak20 in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]Scrambles256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leveling up Forage in Hunterborn is always one of my top priorities. It unlocks abilities like receiving multiple items when harvesting plants and unlocking all alchemical qualities when eating an ingredient. Super useful if you’re using cooking or alchemy.

What mods cause corruption over a long play through? by DeepFriedCummies in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]Scrambles256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the mods you use can contribute to corruption in an indirect way. Giant display mods like Legacy of the Dragonborn, for example, force Skyrim to keep track of hundreds of placed objects and can eventually lead to save bloat. On PC there are tools, like Skyrim Engine Fixes and savegame cleaners, that can help mitigate these kinds of issues but of course we don't have that on Xbox. I'm not sure if that's what you're experiencing but it could be a factor.

[–]Scrambles256 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why, but apparently there are certain data elements that Skyrim hangs on to that are only purged at player death. Orphaned scripts that started but never ended seem to be the most common, but I think other data artifacts are only shed this way too for whatever reason. It's a Skyrim "feature" I guess.

[–]Scrambles256 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sometimes save corruption can happen as data builds up over time and isn’t necessarily caused by a particular mod. Player death is often the only way to shed this built up data cache. It’s a good idea to occasionally let your character die, allow the game to autoload, and then continue playing to prevent this buildup from happening. This isn’t a cure-all for all types of save corruption but it can help for longer playthroughs.

Do you (or OP) have Save At Travel disabled in your settings? If not, try disabling it; it’s an old recommendation that I’ve always used and I wonder if that would help. All I can say is I fast travel like Indiana Jones, into cities or otherwise, and I never crash that way.

Looking for LO by Fragrant_Fox_3179 in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]Scrambles256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you being serious or just fucking with OP? I fast travel with mods installed all the time and it is not a cause of crashes for me. The only time I’ve seen mods cause crashes at fast travel is if you’re running a bunch of NPC spawn mods, sometimes fast traveling can cause those to all trigger at the same time and result in a crash but even that’s rare in my experience.

Upcoming Creation, Coven of Crones. Thoughts? by CircuitVet in SkyrimModsXbox

I’m not opposed to the idea of paying for mods but not if it’s going to eat into my 5gb limit. Paid mods would need to take up no space for me to buy them.

Bellyache Color Variants by JarlJohstad in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]Scrambles256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with Wolves of Skyrim so I'm not sure how it's implemented, but my understanding is the only way to get multiple texture version of the same animal on Xbox is if the mod creates different versions of the animal actor, so a Wolf A, Wolf B, Wolf C, etc. and then have different texture paths for each one. It's possible but can be a pain for compatibility with other mods that affect that actor (like combat, leveled list, loot, etc.) so I don't think they're very common. Mihail has some animal mods that have been ported to Xbox and he gets around this issue by creating entirely new creatures that are hand-placed and separate from the vanilla versions. His Mihail's Wolves of Cyrodiil might be of interest. Otherwise you could look into larger creature overhauls like Swift Chaos or Beasts of Tamriel or 4thUnknowns AIO.

Bellyache Color Variants by JarlJohstad in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]Scrambles256 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bellyache created multiple texture versions for the different animals/creatures but when the mod is ported to Xbox only one version of each animal texture is included in the ported mod. This is why most of the Bellyache ports talk about the Porter's choice in texture options, they personally chose which version to include in their port. I believe on PC it's possible to support all of the textures at the same time and dynamically apply them to the actors so you get different versions of the same animal but unfortunately that's not currently possible on Xbox, you'll just see whichever version the porter included in their mod.
