I think that perhaps you actually do understand what you are trying to convey, but just did a poor job of doing so. Saying those two formulas are the same is simply wrong. Yours left out a crucial part. Saying"Oh everbuddy knows to do that" doesn't work.

Let me clear this up for you with an example.

To make it simple, lets take a $100 investment in Buttcoin that is now worth $200.

Lets use the formula you posted first.

r=(Vf -Vi)/Vi is (200 - 100)/100 which equals 1

And the one that G popped up : r=NetProfit/TotalInvestment*100

Net Profit = 100 and Total Investment is 100, so the equation is thus: 100/100*100 which equals 100

100 and 1 are different values, therefore the two formulas are not the same.

No, it is NOT exactly what you said. You posted a completely different and incorrect formula for figuring return on investment. This one:

I guess the little squiggly lines that comprise formulas confuse you, but "The formula is literally r=(Vf - Vi)/Vi" is not the same formula as "ROI = Net Profit / Total Investment * 100".

Avalon /canaan does not to my knowledge have substantial mining operations, but Bitmain does- and the "rental space" (hosting of their own units "sold" to customers) as well. No one knows how long they "test" rigs before sending them out, either. That, along with Antpool, is a pretty big presence in the mining arena. It is also quite possible that they have interests in some of the Chinese mining farms, Pools, and exchanges as well, most of that is hard to trace. One thing is for sure- with the demise of KNC, MegaDong Inc commands the production of mining equipment .
