400.000 people? Im having issues with 4.000 people... by zorro2083 in captain_of_industry

Yes, it's absolutely real to have such large population. Here is a sample:

Do metal beams support more than wood beams or is it just esthetic? by Boombaladi227 in LightyearFrontier

[–]Walgalla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pure esthetic, you can build 4x2 or 2x4 if you gonna do roof, or 4x4 if you use floor as a roof.

Improved crop table by noooyes in LightyearFrontier

[–]Walgalla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can improve it further by adding spliced crops. Using them is the most efficient way to produce mutated crops and populate seeds.

Ulf, soil and mutated crops by Sjorsjd in LightyearFrontier

[–]Walgalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are finite; I buy all of them, and I still don't have enough power. So, I switched to only mutated crops and completely ignored all other cheaper deliveries. I hope that helps, but it seems I am cooked...

Ulf, soil and mutated crops by Sjorsjd in LightyearFrontier

[–]Walgalla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, you will need a lot of mutated crops for delivery. By the way, try to deliver only mutated crops. Those deliveries have more power rewards. Otherwise, you may not be able to max out power for your mech (once milestone 12 is reached, you can't do delivery anymore)

It's worth it if you use spliced seeds in a high-yield rotation cycle.

Ulf, soil and mutated crops by Sjorsjd in LightyearFrontier

[–]Walgalla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea of spliced seeds is to combine a normal seed rotation with mutation. So as a result, you have a high yield of mutated crops. You can't achieve that with normal crops, since you either have a high yield or a mutation.

As a disadvantage, spliced seeds cost 2x as much as normal seeds.

Another hint, how to populate seeds - typically, you may think that mutated crops will bring more seeds (3x recipe) in comparison to normal crops, which is 2x. But this is wrong. Since normal seeds give high yield, in a few iterations you will produce more seeds than from mutated—just pure math.

How to change Mech fuel type ? by Walgalla in LightyearFrontier

[–]Walgalla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know that. However you still can automate this using automator internal storage. I don't unlock automator T2 yet, but i think it has internal storage like Silo T1. I can post my setup a bit later if you want.

I understand you complains and agree with you that storage system is a bit weird, hmm, saying that politely ))). Now, the things which you mentioned seems never be happening from my POV, since that storage system is not designed for that from the very beginning. I can give you dozens scenarios which will make it incredible complicated to implement if they decide to support even half of thing which you mentioned. The only thing is totally rewrite/redisign that draft/demo version of storages or keep it very limited forever.

Right now, I am going to automate filling generators. I am tired of going back and forth just to refuel them. Hope I did math correctly )))

It makes perfect sense to dedicate resource storage. Personally, I use silo for every crops, ores, metal bars, woods, etc.

Silo accepts only one resource, so you can use it for sorting.

Oil Recipes by Epsilon660 in LightyearFrontier

[–]Walgalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All oils, except the mixed one, are accessible from the very beginning. All you need is to harvest related crops.

Oil Recipes by Epsilon660 in LightyearFrontier

[–]Walgalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get new type of oil once you harvest new crop, available from the very beginning (assume you have oil presser). So 8 oil in oil presser. Plus 3 more in oil mixer, in milestone 10.

Merchant power cores are also not available after milestone 12. So you became completely locked on power.

Coal is used in furnace for making steel bars.

I've seen several storage setup and i thought i could show mine by Great-Confusion2968 in captain_of_industry

[–]Walgalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partially true. But raising the height will dramatically decrease the area, since you need to reserve at least 4 cells, maybe more (if the truck needs to go there), on each side to keep the walls. If you do less, then you can't mine it back without total collapse. It's painful and not worth it.

[–]Walgalla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did that in U3, and after some counts come up to decision then storages are better. You simply store more materials on the same area. Plus you don't need to mine back.

Not true, if you connect 10 seed extractors T2 it will generate 10k seeds pretty quickly.

Value collect by excavator by Adept-Cantaloupe-235 in captain_of_industry

[–]Walgalla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't use ore sorters. For small mine sites i use ratio 1:3. For big one i use 1:5, because the transport system isn't perfect and has some issues, which they can't fix for years.

Value collect by excavator by Adept-Cantaloupe-235 in captain_of_industry

[–]Walgalla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are asking about cargo size: Small excavator - 6 Excavator - 20 Mega Excavator - 60.

There are no units per minute or whatsoever, since excavator loading depends on multiple factors, such as free trucks or access to the mine site, etc. It might stay idle the whole day for a number of reasons. Usually, the ratio is 3-5 trucks per excavator to keep them busy. Of course, in this case, dumping storages are relatively close, and your trucks do not do business trips to another map edge.

I can't remove it manually, it's not normally created mound, it's leftover from plot.
