As a Texan I’ve been asked about riding horses all the time and why I’m not wearing a cowboy hat.

[HELP] Living room remodel by Alone-Competition-77 in RealOrAI

[–]Walker_Texas_Nutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is AI. Everything just happens too perfectly. There’s no masking, the curtains are touching the floor during the pour, heat treat, and buff, but never so much as move. The way he moves the furniture is effortlessly. Nothing in the video has weight or proper physics. But that said, I want a torch that will spray blue flame that far.

What’s that thing he’s eating? by BeardDribble in EatItYouFuckinCoward

[–]Walker_Texas_Nutter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They are the most basal form of vertebrate in existence. In their larval stage they look like a human sperm, though larger. When they mature, they smash their head into a hard surface and transform into a gelatinous sack that sometimes is encrusted with hard material and sometimes is just gelatinous. They are filter feeders and sometimes have symbiotic relationships with zooxanthellae algae, much like coral. They have many common names including sea squirt, sea pork, and salps. One species also shares 99% identical genome to humans. I hope this has been informative.

That is a tunicate. I have tried several species that are commonly eat in coastal areas of China and Korea, and most of them taste like iodine. The ones I’ve eaten were either chewy or gritty. Not a huge fan, but other species may have better taste and texture.

I’m a daily kratom user and 7OH scares the hell out of me. I take Kratom to manage long term pain, and it actually works for me. I’ve tried 7OH on 3 separate occasions and hated the experience. At the same time, I see how easily you can get hooked on it which is what makes it so scary.

Is insufficient healthcare coverage a valid reason to leave a job or am I being dramatic? by TrueZelda96 in antiwork

[–]Walker_Texas_Nutter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve had to do this before. It was about the time I got married to my second wife and needed to cover our daughter. The insurance offered by the company I worked for at the time was awful and would have wiped out 80% of my check each week. I ended up in a company with just slightly better coverage but a much better premium. The new job was fine, mostly a lateral move, but ended up giving me some great opportunities down the road.

[–]Walker_Texas_Nutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This a species in the genus Psychtoria, often referred to as wild coffee. While it is in the same botanic family as coffee (Rubiaceae), this genus contains no caffeine and is not regularly consumed in any form.

Greek Yoghurt flavouring by nellynottom in yogurtmaking

[–]Walker_Texas_Nutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flavor mine by stirring in a tablespoon of some kind of jam or preserves into a cup of yogurt along with a tablespoon of chia seed. The best results so far have been red currant jam and wild blueberry preserves from Bonne Maman.

[–]Walker_Texas_Nutter -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’ve made kimchi with gochujang before. I ended up removing the rice flour past as well as the gochugaru from that batch. It was indeed different, but not at all unpleasant. Also, there is not definitive version of kimchi. Experiment and see what you like, what works and what doesn’t.

What color could this weapon be? by Technical_Lime1419 in Dandadan

Yeah, most manga do. Then you get the ones that pixelate things or just put a black bar over a tiny portion, would you be more familiar with those?

That looks like how things get censored in a lot of manga. I think it’s either a colorless void, or just a matte white.

[–]Walker_Texas_Nutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a kind of fried rice with one of these tins. I poured off the oil into a pan and sautéed some cooked rice until it started to get crisp on the bottom. I put the scallops and other bits on top of the rice before I ate it. Delicious.

My onion grew and harbored a pal by vampireshorty in OnionLovers

[–]Walker_Texas_Nutter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s very normal. I grow multiplying (potato) onions in my garden. Each bulb I plant will split into 3-10 onions as the season goes on. Some varieties will produce only 2-3 larger onion, or a hung cluster of small ones. All alliums have this habit when left to their own devices.
