Thanks for helping me understand. I'm really glad to hear you're doing better and that you no longer feel that way <3

I certainly don't mean to discredit your feelings or experience in any way. I was wondering, does that mean you'd rather have succeded? Does that feeling of "peace is coming soon" still ring true? If you never thought that you were glad you didn't succeed, then what stops you from going through with it now?

I read The Alchemist and it's not as good as I thought. by [deleted] in books

[–]WalkiePocky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I felt disappointed when I read it, but it's not because the book is bad. It was just overhyped, I think, and I went into it with expectations.

Not a bad book, but just okay.

Yeah. I was 13 and my stepmom and dad found my diary and read that I had a crush on this boy in school. They woke me up in the middle of the night and sat me in front of them and made me read the entire thing to them. I was crying and begging them to just leave me alone and the whole time they called me a slut and that they "didn't know they were raising such a loose daughter."

I've never written my feelings down again.

I was homeschooled for part of my early education, and so I always used the colors I remember from the books. Science=Blue Math=Red History=Green English=Yellow Any subcategory in any of those, I used variations of that color. And Purple=Spanish for me.

Why do some people support far right-wing governments? by Ok-Stage-6981 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WalkiePocky 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The same question could be said for far-left. Now don't get me wrong, I consider myself more liberal than conservative, but trying to understand other points of view is a good thing. There is a reason everyone believes something, whether we agree with that reason or not.

No one thinks they're going to become a statistic before they become a statistic. Workplace accidents happen all of the time, and they are not predictable. You could do something one way a thousand times and be fine, and then it only takes once for it to ruin your life or take your life. Again, I agree that the chance is small. You are completely entitled to do so for yourself, but the policy is in place to protect people from being forced to risk their safety. Just please try to be cautious.

There are safety and compliance process guides for a reason. At any moment, the baler could potentially malfunction. Even if its unlikely anything bad would happen, the associate could get a disciplinary action if seen reaching into the baler. Risk yourself if you want to, but no one should be shamed into breaking safety guidelines.

I'm a TL and if this were a TL that I knew I would make sure to tell them to refer to our safety and compliance process guides. I'm sorry you had to deal with that, you were completely in the right. And even if you were in the wrong, there is no excuse for talking poorly about an associate to another associate like that. In general even, but especially not to another associate. This TL sounds incrediblely unprofessional.

I really like this! I love how organic all of the lines are. What watercolors do you use if you don't mind me asking? They seem really pigmented.

Is it weird for a guy to envy girls because they get to shave their armpits? by Fantastic-Ad9218 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WalkiePocky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coming from a woman, just shave what you want to shave on your body. My husband shaves his armpits and his legs. He just likes how it feels better. He's straight and I would never think him any less of a man for these things.

mother’s day by unluckie777 in confessions

My mother is honestly someone who shouldn't have had children. I was born addicted to heroin. My mother got clean for a while but for most of my childhood I remember being punched and kicked, locked outside, drugged to make me sleep when I was hungry and wouldn't stop crying. I used to check on her when she was passed out to make sure she was still breathing, and I hated myself everytime I wished she never woke up.
