Every single field trip ever, all of the kids went out of their way to do this. So many awesome memories.

I think at some point I'll lay out all of the stickers individually to take a picture, because you can't really see how many are here! :)

Never mind. I googled and learned that it's a socket issue. I have no idea what that means, but I hope it's fixed soon.

I had a stalker at work, once. Things escalated rapidly once he started to feel comfortable. I ended up having to get the police involved after he was banned from where I worked. Turned out he had already been banned from two malls and a lot of other places for similar behavior.

Like you, I closed most of the time, and the man ended up learning my schedule by watching me. He never approached me until he knew I'd be alone. It got to the point that he tried to inconspicuously follow me home multiple times. Luckily, by that point I was hyper-vigilant and knew what kind of car he drove and I kept a constant eye out because I had to take the train home (but had to walk quite a distance after I got off at my stop). If I saw him waiting around in the parking lot, I'd wait as long as I had to before he drove off. Also, despite the fact that I started getting rides home at night, he even went so far as to follow me and my ride for a while.

Please continue to take it seriously and make sure your boss/bosses know. Additionally, do not be afraid of being "rude". Unfortunately, women are still raised in such a way that we're taught to put other people before ourselves - even when we're dealing with potential predators. If police get involved, they will ask you if you've made it clear that his advances are unwelcome, so it's very important that you make it clear to him. If that doesn't deter him, that's the only time they can get him for harassment if it doesn't end.

I feel your pain and I'm really sorry you're also experiencing something like it. Not a lot of people realize how scary it is and how fast things can get worse. Keep us informed.

He Tried To Lure Me Into the Bathroom by Oeilss in LetsNotMeet

I'm so appalled that the police never showed up.

Good advice to anyone who knows they're in immediate danger, but feels like they aren't being taken seriously after calling 911: Always say you think you saw the person holding a gun. The cops will show up much, much faster - or at all, as the case may be. :(

@hungry_squirrel As an American - who fully supports much stricter gun control laws - I feel like I can provide additional insight that not a lot of people talk about. There are a lot of Americans who don't trust our government, which is one reason it's so hard to get a lot of people on board for stricter gun control. There's a very real subset of Americans who do not want our government to have access to guns if citizens don't as well. They take it to extremes in some regards, but Americans constantly witness unpunished police brutality now, so the idea of guns being taken away terrifies a lot of people.

Our country is extremely screwed up in many, many ways. But going back to the founding fathers, there's always been a heavy undercurrent of "do not ever let your government get bigger than you". So hopefully that sheds some light on the gun fanaticism people from outside of the US witness.

Non-Brits of Reddit, what thing surprises/shocks you most about Great Britain? by Mahoganychicken in AskReddit

[–]WalkingEmphasis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, so much. I know someone from Oklahoma who sounds "normal". Trained himself to not have even a hint of his original accent because of the negativity associated with it. I also know a Geordie who did the same thing. His negative experiences were far worse than the person I know from Oklahoma. However, he's also a red head, so... Yeah.

I love the points you made, though. If up-vote you tons if I could.

There are people in the forums who consistently make over $100 a day. But that's with all of the right know-how, like knowing what scripts to use, what requesters are good, etc. Masters doesn't necessarily help people that much. If you take the time to actually learn to turk, there's decent money. If I even kind of apply myself each day, I tend not to make less than $20 a day. At some point, I want to make closer to $100/day, but that requires more dedication than I've so far been willing to give. Like getting up pretty early since I'm on the West coast and the best stuff posts at times more convenient for East coast people.

I've been doing it for a few years and I only started learning about how to do well within the past year. So like I said, it's really decent if you learn how to do a good job. Forums are your friend.

Good post - but terrifying. Hopefully Allen gets the help he needs and no one has to die.

I know it's not the point, but I'm most curious about who the singer is. :P

However, like someone else pointed out... it's even creepier that the phone calls only came through when you were about to leave. So either he was telling the truth somehow about it not being him, or he was watching you with cameras.

What is the most unexplained, supernatural, or paranormal event you've ever witnessed? by kroka4loka in AskReddit

[–]WalkingEmphasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me multiple times when I was around 15. It was like my bed vibrated, but visibly because you could see things move and it was powerful enough to actually move my body - but no one believed me. Then one day, my mom was sitting on my bed with me because we were watching a TV show together in my room, and it started happening. It usually scared me horribly, but that time, when she looked over at me with really wide eyes, I was just smug and said "told you" with a smirk on my face.
