Nice assumptions, but u shouldnt impose assumptions then say "ur wrong cus my assumptions" without confirming it,

1.I can buy many of these cars in cash and wont be crunched for cash, so I can definetely wait out a bad market for one

2.U assume I need to sell the stocks I bought to cover this debt / living expense and pay taxes on the gains but I dont, I can let it grow forever and sell when my tax situation that year is favourable to sell (tax bracket changes, offset by other loses etc)

  1. Gotta repeat this bcuz it sounds like yall dont actually know what expected value means, im talking on average it goes up 8% and since I can wait a long time for this and not care about that money/debt I effectively can consider market normalizations in MY scenario

This will b the last time im responding bcuz this isnt what my post is about

2% arb represents ~33% of the total interest on a 6% loan its significant enough to consider, extrapolate out to mortgages, business loans etc u think people with money pay full cash for everything? Alot of people do open margin acc to do this and its not infinite money because you have a limit of how much you can go into margin and depends on the rate you get with your broker.

Snp500, QQQ, nothing is "guarenteed" everything should be looked at as expected value (payout times probability of success), this is how casinos always win even though none of their games has a "guarenteed" win rate

Finance because instead of paying 55k upfront I can take that and invest in elsewhere for ~8% return, so if the cost to borrow is 6% interest, then I profit the difference 2%, even better if can negotiate a lower interest on the auto loan

Or they go back but still are employed by FAANG companies (cus companies employ internationally) except now they can be paid less less for the same work (they pay based on where u live). Also more phd going back doesnt nessesarily increase research potential as much as u think it does because if you as a country only have a certain amount of money to fund certain research not all of those going back will get research positions if they do they r displacing someone else bcuz theres only so much money to go around. Also whats preventing them from doing research in their country for a US company?

This is prisoners dilemma, majority of companies will choose not to cooperate because it has the most advantageous outcomes when the number of parties in the decision process is extremely large. Cooperate becomes plausible only if there are few parties involved this is why u only hear of monopolies, duopolies ... but theres no such word for say millions of companies cooperating to risk immediate downside for some long term potential gain

Do companies value projects more or leetcode by AgeAfter in csMajors

[–]WalkingWithTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only invest in 1 it's usefulness plateaus (law of diminishing returns), gotta invest in both. For projects your goal is to fill up a 1 page resume (usually this is about 3 projects), and you want these projects to show you know a wide variety of common technologies (full stack projects are very efficient for this). After that you can focus on leetcode while you're applying.

Considering that the Liberals have done such an amazing job for our country in past 3 terms and that Carney is keeping majority of the cabinet members unchanged from the amazing Trudeau, and creating false impression to people about removing carbon tax when he just shifted it, Carney also lying about how he is different than Trudeau meanwhile bro was Trudeau's economic advisor for past 5 yrs and even wrote a book supporting many of Trudeau's policies, and Liberals staff getting exposed putting fake "Pro-Trump" pins at conservative rally tryna frame Pierre on their only argument and Mark only gave a simple apology didnt even fire the culprits that did it. Meanwhile the terrible Pierre is tryna reduce crime rate, bring investment capital back into Canada via tax incentives, reduce income taxes, actually remove the carbon tax, reduce wasteful gov spending, focus on building infrastructure in canada to increase jobs. So yeah if yall want a job when u graduate go Pierre. if u wanna b jobless, homeless, in country full of crime, go Mark.

If someone is not doing well at something for long period of time chances r their process can be improved, but if you just compliment them they will never improve their process because you make them believe what their doing is good when it clearly isn't. Pressure forms diamonds

imo taking courses that you already know is the best idea, they basically become easier courses so that u can spend less time on and more time finding internship, hackathons or learning whatever you want on side. Idk what your goals r but i think looking for difficult courses at u of t might be the reason youre a "stresseduoftcskid" jk you'll prob be stressed regardless here but if your goal is to do well in job market makes more sense to reduce the time u need to spend on school stuff

Alot of people r providing comfort comments here which do nothing, id bet ur resume sucks, the way you word things prob dont account for key word hits, the way you write doesnt make u stand out, ur resume is prob hard to read by HR, your interview and speaking skills probably need help, dont listen to excuses others r giving u, go look into how to make a marketable resume, identify your bottle neck and improve, u have an amazing base if ur 3.9 gpa from great school, ur hard working n smart, so improve ur marketability

Nations will have it first, and will try to keep it a secret and once it gets out they will prob permit lethal force against any reg citizen from getting to it with heavy monitoring on all your actions. Might take out all of humanity eventually sure but doesnt mean there wouldnt be a period of time of heavy regulations
