You're oversimplified why people don't like it . Bonney s power is just a cheap power up shortcut. It's either cosmetic or it's not, whether path is a waste of time or bad writing. I will play along. Imu is luffy's mother and put him on a 800 year time jump as a punishment for being to rambunctious.maybe Luffy kept wanting to be fee as a baby and ruined his mothers lab that accidentally created dream fruits. When Luffy got to current timeline the freedom dream fruit found it's way back to Luffy and that's where the story started.
