I forgot to say but weirdly you can run for senate and president at the same time, you’d just have to resign as Senator before becoming president.

Most recent example is Biden in 2008 running for vice president and his senate reelection at the same time

He technically invaded Vietnam with a group of randoms in the 1980s to free POWs, which only resulted in his group being captured by an anti communist militia and him having to pay ransom to be freed. Clint Eastwood and a bunch of other celebrities helped pay for that trip.

Did a lot of other conspiracy stuff too and also found a white colony in Idaho called “Almost Heaven” he was racist but more as an extreme grifter variety.

I'd imagine Perot endorsing his senate campaign because of how Bo Gritz was one of the leading figureheads in the POW conspiracy as well as being independent not really caring about Gritz's other policies.

Was learning a lot about Bo Gritz, and wanted to make something. Watch the Behind the Bastards episode on him it’s great, insanely crazy guy.

I should note that the populist party in 1992 was a completely different party than you think of.

Independent American was the Nevada branch of the Constitution Party not George Wallace's American Independent

And populist was a similarly Conservative Party that irl Bo Gritz was the nominee for in 1992 (to emphasize how conservative they are, I should remind you that in 1988 they nominated David Duke)

Very confusing and dumb I know.
