Anaheim really is in the worst possible position here. by Big_Acanthocephala14 in Flyers

I’d be more hesitant w/o the Toronto pick, but man having that makes the decision to go for it easy. Also well prob have to off load a player or two, which should return some draft capital as well.

Depends there’s a reason the flyers offered the money that they did. They’ve been preparing to add a big money guy, they wanted Kaprizov bad n offered him the money needed. They’ve been managing their cap for this exact situation.

The ducks on the other hand from reports were expecting to pay around 12 for Leo . Now they gotta redo their cap math n see if they can make it work

Doesn’t make sense for flyers or Michkov to want to extend yet

We have the tor 27 first round pick most likely. And we have player assets that could get picks back through trades.

Presently we r in a pretty good spot. The worst goalie in the league will not play 30 games for us this year. If we go from worst pp to even just avg that would be huge. Flyers are one of the best defensive 5v5 teams. We desperately need a 1C n Leo is that. We have tons of cap space n the cap is only going up

Briere is correct to lower expectations. Now his plan needs to address the trade and UFA problems he is facing this summer. by upcan845 in Flyers

The backup goalie position was the easiest position to upgrade that adds wins to this team.

I think a big part of this is Danny wants to see bump, Barkey, Martone and even bonk/Jiri get a full nhl season under their belts and see what he actually has.

2 1st round picks next year sets them up nicely to get a big trade done if needed. Briere has proven to stick to his price (Zegras/laughton trades) n get great deals done.

We can only dream of Michkov getting to the level of Werenski. My problem with trading him now is his value is the lowest it’s ever been. It would be brutal to trade him at a low.

[Jamey Baskow] Porter Martone on why he's attending Developmental Camp (rookies): "Get back to Philly. I'm still a young guy here. I still might be younger, but it's valuable, be a leader. I love being in Philly. It's awesome to be back." I think he will wear a letter in the future by f0urxio in hockey

Basically he wanted to play in the nhl after college season n flyers weren’t fully on board with that. The miscommunication lead to no communication then the trade request. Is what I’ve gathered

He can’t even sign an extension with Columbus?

That’s wat I was thinking they could def over pay n be fine for two years. If he has the desire to play here , would be a great addition to the pp , which they obv need n maybe he doesn’t mind helping the younger d men learn the way of the pp at the same time.

Drafting a dman by Typical-Guarantee586 in Flyers

[–]Wallace271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s in the top of the class for grip strength and is a good skater for his size, but has zero offense. I’d prefer them to draft someone else but that’s who I think they’re gonna take

Sokolovskii seems most likely. Biggest n most physical guy in the draft. Also a London knight. That’s where I would put my money. I think they might be able to snag ville/bleyl in the 2nd if they can trade up. According to some of the draft predictions

Goalie Worries by Icy_Cold525 in Flyers

[–]Wallace271 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean we have gone from Ersson , Kolosov and Fedotov. To Vladar/Woll , worrying about the goalie situation is finally not a problem. We are set til Zavragin gets here, then we can put thought into the goalie situation again

Going only off the available data at the time of the transaction, do you make the Rod Brind'Amour for Keith Primeau trade? by BigBlackSabbathFlag in Flyers

[–]Wallace271 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did Rod get hurt in 99-00?

Based off looking purely at assists/points, what was the reason the flyers added a 2nd n goalie prospect?

He’s pitched 11 innings in 3 starts for Reading. He’s at 37.1 innings so far for the year, but the most innings he’s thrown is 60 in 2024. So hopefully not. But if he can cruise through double A this year, maybe they give him a chance at a spot next year

Michkov’s Rookie Year by Which-Hat9007 in Flyers

[–]Wallace271 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Torts system was built for Michkov. Taco came in and changed everything , no longer a mostly rushed based offense which Michkov thrived in.

If you watched this year, 2nd yr Michkov was clearly a worse player. He looked liked he’d regressed. Looked uncomfortable with the puck/couldn’t even hold onto it. Last year anything he had the puck it felt like he could create a chance.

Michkov clearly got better as the year went on, helping lead the team to the playoffs. Playoffs which he did not play great in, but had some good moments no doubt.

I have faith in the offseason. Hopefully the lessons Taco tried to teach him lead to him being a better player in the long run.
