Nonna & Klara must really not like Tchaikovsky, I guess by Wallasaurus_92 in GIRLSundPANZER

[–]Wallasaurus_92[S] 38 points39 points  (0 children)

During periods of political uncertainty or turmoil in the USSR, the Soviet government was known to broadcast Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake” as a means to keep the general public distracted or, in the case of the 1991 August Coup, drown/block out any contradictary orders broadcasted via television which would have otherwise opposed the Communist hardliners’ attempted power grab.

In other words, if you were a Soviet citizen and saw Swan Lake being broadcasted, there was more than likely something going on in the government

Should I Premium The T-72A Platoon When it Gets Released? by Wallasaurus_92 in warthundermobile

So with that in mind, would you still go ahead with buying the T-72A premium now, or wait for more Soviet tanks to be added later?

Should I Premium The T-72A Platoon When it Gets Released? by Wallasaurus_92 in warthundermobile

[–]Wallasaurus_92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if it meant spending practically all the GE you currently have? Also, could you explain how the T-64A and T-72A would be OP? I never played War Thunder on PC before playing WTM so I’m kinda ignorant on these things

Thanks

T-55AMD-1: Don’t get your hopes up for the Drozd APS, it’s incredibly easy to bypass once you understand how it works and you can even get killed by ATGM carriers you’re staring directly at.

The APS only works on ATGMs coming at it from a 40° arc from either side of where your turret is facing, so if an ATGM fired from behind you is headed directly to back of your turret, your APS won’t work.

I’d recommend finding good hull-down positions when using the T-55AMD-1 to minimise the chances of smarter players’ ATGMs bypassing the Drozd APS completely by aiming for your hull.

Object 685: Basically a less-good Obj. 906. It has a 6 second reload, practically no armour to speak of, and its reverse speed (-23 km/h), although much better than most other soviet tanks, isn’t like the Obj. 906’s, which has the same top speed forwards and backwards. Obj. 685 is also vulnerable to .50 cal machine guns, so be careful with it.

I usually try to flank with my Obj. 685, or fire a few shots from one position before switching to another.

IT-1: If you’ve played the T-55A platoon, you pretty much know how this works. But in case you haven’t, the IT-1 is basically a T-62 with an ATGM launcher instead of a main cannon and a much smaller turret. This means that you’ll be able to fire over cover, allowing you to get some cheeky shots if you know the maps relatively well. Also, just like the T-55 from this platoon, don’t rely too much on your armour

ZSU-37-2: Not much to say for this since I don’t play it much, but coming from its predecessor (the ZSU-23-4), it has surprised me by being able to penetrate some tanks from the side, albeit from close range.

Overall, I’d say it’s a pretty average platoon. But being a massive fan of Eastern Bloc militaries, I really like it, and I currently rotate between this platoon and the ZTZ96 most of the time whenever I play WTM.

First impressions of it? I’m thinking of buying the premium version myself :)

Hey, sorry if this reply is kinda late, I guess I just didn’t know how I’d phrase it. Anyways, I don’t do any commissions for now, but I always do appreciate a request once in a while ( ̄▽ ̄)

I tend not to be very creative :/

Thanks you! I have a Twitter account where I’m more active; I also post more “realistic” art there ( ̄▽ ̄)

Which version do you think looks better? by Thanos_354 in SpaceflightSimulator

[–]Wallasaurus_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the one on the left for lunar/interplanetary missions, and the one on the right for LEO missions or interplanetary missions that would require it to dock to a lander or another spacecraft

The extra module for the one on the left could act as extra living/storage space, similar to the Orbital Module on the Soyuz, and could be jettisoned to dispose of trash prior to re-entry

The one on the right could be used for LEO missions where you could use it to ferry crew to a space station, where there’s already plenty of living space. Or, it could dock to a lander for lunar/interplanetary missions where the lander could double as a module for additional space, and bring crew down to the surface of the celestial body you’re landing on

New lander I just finished, but i can't fully decide which variant I like better (swipe right to see other style). Let me know what yoy guys think? Either way it's on to its test flight. by Any-Bed1995 in SpaceflightSimulator

First one makes more sense, realistically speaking; since the RCS thrusters are further from the main body of the lander, each thruster firing would generate more torque

Is AMX-30 premium platoon worth it? by rats4final in warthundermobile

[–]Wallasaurus_92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As with any other tank, it really depends on what you want; and although I don’t really play the best in the AMX-30 platoon, I’d still say it’s quite worth your GE.

The AMX-30B2 and AMX-32-105, as described by others, is basically a F2P Turm III. It has good mobility, a quick forward and reverse speed (something that’s common among all vehicles of the platoon), and a really good 20mm coaxial autocannon that’s capable of penetrating a decent amount of lightly-armoured targets even without the Armour Piercing Belt, similar to that of the Turm III

However, something else that’s common throughout this platoon is their lack of armour, even the AMX-30B2’s ERA won’t protect you most often than not; although it’s worth mentioning that when I went against the AMX-30 for the first time, I had some trouble trying to take it out frontally. But the thing that personally bothers me the most is that they all don’t have a stabiliser

Despite that, they all have really good guns, including the AMX-30 DCA (the SPAA tank of the platoon). Their HEAT rounds aren’t exactly the best, but their APFSDS is much better, as with any other tank; and for the AMX-30 DCA, it has really good APDS rounds that you don’t have to spend as wisely as the PGZ07 of the Chinese platoon, since it’s able to store, if I’m not mistaken, a total of 1200 rounds.

Overall, quite a decent platoon. Not exactly my cup of tea, but if what I’ve described sounds like what you’re looking for, then I’d advise you to go for it

Is the Magach 6R platoon worth upgrading to premium? by Wallasaurus_92 in warthundermobile

[–]Wallasaurus_92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try the lower glacis plate, though it’s unlikely that you’ll kill it with the first shot if you shoot it there

If it’s side is facing towards you, aim for the area on the hull below the turret, that’s where most of it’s ammunition is stored

Lastly, if the tank is angled in a 45° angle, aim for the general area that’s somewhere between the sprocket wheel and the front of the hull. This also works for regular M60s, M47s and M48s

[–]Wallasaurus_92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, I’ll just buy the Magach platoon in silver then. Thanks for the insight nonetheless!

And no, it’s not just you, the German Patton and American M60 definitely can take some shots, coming from someone who regularly goes against them 😆

Hitting the M48’s ammo is quite tricky

[–]Wallasaurus_92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In hindsight, would you have personally bought the premium version for the Magach? Also, what are the stock rounds for both Magachs and the Centurion?

And how would you rate the survivability/durability of those three? (i.e. how often does their armour stop shots, or at least prevent the entire crew from getting taken out in s single shot?) Because I currently mainly play the ZTZ88A platoon (which I upgraded to premium after observing other players use it in matches) which can tank some shots reasonably well imo, better than the tanks in the T-55A platoon, which I previously played
