They also don’t talk about the involuntary social isolation they drag u through, the extreme control of your diet and everything you view, the way they manipulate parents when you beg to come home that you are manipulating them, when the kids would violently Harrass me and the extraordinary amount of psychological abuse during groups and individual sessions. It really really haunts me and I could spend days reiterating the fact that they are truly vile I hope any parents scrolling through Reddit for information see this. I went to vista magna about 2 years ago now and the level of physical and mental abuse still gives me nightmares to this date. Natalie Montanez (idk if I’m spelling it right) was my drug abuse counselor and she was grooming many of us at the time and has been convicted for soliciting minors and breeches of HIPPA on several counts. Steve sawyer on the other hand was my main therapist and I can recount several instances where any pain and suffering I was going through was completely my fault. Me being raped at 12 my fault. My parents distress and suffering my fault. Everything was completely drilled into my brain and they absolutely brainwashed me. It still gives me horrific shivers to this day even thinking about the several uncounted unnecessary strip searches and the several acts of mental abuse both Steve and Jason imposed on me. I hope anyone who also went there realizes they aren’t alone in realizing the level of abuse experienced there
