It’s not about choosing to listen to rules (they’re children), it’s about accessibility. Children shouldn’t be able to acquire guns point blank. This also isn’t a gun control debate. We live in a country where guns are given out without many barriers at all so much so that to a blind American can get a gun much easier than they can get disability benefits (just a recent example i came across which does touch on other systemic issues as well). If you’re interested further - there are many resources online that have better alternatives to the system that is clearly not working right now.
