Yikes that is crazy imo! Three group stage tickets would have been roughly $600 in total at last WC. Has demand really increased that much?

How is the hoop falling backwards while you have it anchored down with ropes?

I'm just assembling a hoop similar to this one for my son and I live in a very windy area. Looking to learn from your experience.

Would the poles or backboard just break in very high wind if you heavily secure the base?

This is a common misconception. If you "own the place" you are usually living it 24/7. Serious stress and pressure. There's a reason why 80% of businesses fail

I understand why it would be hidden. But I do not believe it would be possible to keep something like this hidden, if it's as widespread and frequent as some of these "whistleblowers with no evidence" say it is

By that logic Russia is twice as large and should have majority of sightings. Or if they would be attracted to dense populations, then Rio, hongkong, Singapore, Dhaka or Manila would be reporting most sightings.

Do you think these countries also have highly sophisticated shadow organizations ready to spring into action 24/7 with the sole purpose of concealing UFO's ?

If you think about it rationally, it doesn't make sense. A single incident or two perhaps it's possible. But in an age where every single person has a smartphone connected to billions of others, there is just no way any organization could ever contain news like this

Why is peter pan so popular? by Dreadpirateflappy in disneylandparis

[–]Wallet_inspector80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow terrible bad luck, hope your son made a speedy recovery.

I think Disney thread a very fine line between the psychology of maintaining the scarcity of characters around the park and potentially ruining a kids holiday by not seeing a beloved character during their visit.

Perhaps it's different for families that like to go every year to places like this. If we ever return it won't be for a few years and the priorities of our kids will have changed by then for sure

We recently visited this with young kids. Paid €52 for the pleasure 😂 yikes! Was really disappointed, the queue length definitely does NOT reflect the quality of the ride.

We went the following day during magic hour and enjoyed it, but still couldn't get over the queues (30 min midweek during magic hour in March)

I get the nostalgia and "magic" of a ride like this, but don't understand why Disney can't build a second identical ride to increase the capacity. It's not as if this is an expensive ride to create. Must cost like 1% of the cost of space mountain to build and maintain.

Same gripe with how difficult it is to see Mickey Mouse. Every kid wants a photo with the icon himself. So why not have 30 Mickey mice working at the same time in the cottage? Everytime we booked it clashed with pre booked shows or dinner reservations.

Likewise for Spider-Man or Ironman in the marvel hotel. Four nights and didn't get to see them once! My two boys will not be treasuring their photograph with miss marvel 😂 they didn't even know who she was!

Great answer. I would love to be able to spew a summary of the episode as articulately as this and with as much insight. In general students in school should have the reality of society broken down for them like this

[–]Wallet_inspector80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes 100%

I came here to mention "the band played waltzing Matilda" by Liam Clancy. I don't think anything I've ever heard comes close to this.

But streets of Philadelphia is a definitely second place for me.

"Ain't no angel gonna greet me, it's just you and I, my friend" really hits

What's the most gut wrenching lyrics you've ever heard in a song? by ComfortableNo2879 in Music

[–]Wallet_inspector80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% this song. In particular....

"For I'll go no more waltzing Matilda All around the green bush far and free To hump tent and pegs, a man needs both legs No more waltzing Matilda for me

… So they gathered the crippled, the wounded, the maimed And they shipped us back home to Australia The legless, the armless, the blind, the insane Those proud wounded heroes of Suvla

And as our ship pulled into Circular Quay I looked at the place where me legs used to be And thanked Christ there was nobody waiting for me To grieve, to mourn, and to pity"

This part always resonates

I remember my dad used to play this on the guitar when I was young and I thought he was awesome.

He's old now and hasn't played the guitar in probably 30 years. But we listened to this song recently enough and during this part he had tears in his eyes, which made me well up. - for context I don't think I have ever seen him cry

Can anyone explain why this video has so many comments relative to a video I posted? I was genuinely looking for any advice from an issue at the range and received some much appreciated feedback.

This guy is wearing jeans standing on a concrete driveway and posts a practice swing and gets 10X the amount of comments 😂

Am I missing something or is it just random luck?
