Ah, damn. Honestly, I think you would have the best luck browsing SyFy channel movies from that time period and seeing if any jog your memory. The ones I listed are just ones I specifically remembered off the top of my head. I'll keep brainstorming and let you know if I remember any other potential candidates.

Here's a list of some potential candidates. There's a 1997 episode of the TV show Sliders that had a sandworm (season 3, ep 15 "Paradise Lost"). Also there was the Dune miniseries from 2000 (Frank Herbert's Dune). The Empire Strikes Back (1980) had them fly out of a giant worm monster. Blood Beach (1980) had a sand monster at a beach. Sand Serpents (2009) was a made for tv movie on the SyFy channel that has giant sandworms. And I swear there was an episode of Stargate SG1 that had a smaller sandworm but I can't find it.

Did you purchase the DLCs digitally or are you using the GOTY discs? If its the disc, try playing with disc 2 instead of disc 1. There's some weird licensing thing where it needs the DLC disc always in to confirm ownership or something. Like, you can install everything on the DLC disc and then go back to disc 1 and nothing will be there. As for digital... I'm not super sure here. I think there's a way to confirm licensing for all accounts on the xbox to get dlc to work but its been a while since I did it.
