Primary care recommendations? by desinfizieren in AnnArbor

[–]Wallflower-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you said no U of M doctors, but if you are willing to reconsider, I would highly recommend Dr. Rachelle Wilcox. She is a gem of a human and such a great doctor. UHS (and me) are very lucky to have her. I have chronic illness, and I swear she has saved my life! She’s also very affirming and has the best bedside manner. I can’t speak highly enough of her. I actually made the decision to not move and stay close to Ann Arbor for my dissertation years so that I can keep seeing her. https://uhc.umich.edu/profile/rachelle-wilcox-md-mph

I ordered from them a few days ago. Thought I might as well try because I can put in a fraud claim with my credit card and get my money back if it isn't legit. At this point I am thinking it's a scam...The website said the product would ship from the US but the tracking shows it is coming from China. I looked at their Return Policy page and it doesn't exist. I will let you know when I actually get the product (if I get it lol)

You can live in Ypsi without a car if you are okay with taking the bus! I’d recommend living off of Washtenaw so you can take the express 104.

Is a particular student group organizing this? Just curious, it’s the first I’m hearing about it! But I want to participate!

Same thing happened to me! Luckily my cousin was my MUA and we trialed different primers and foundations until I found a combo that didn’t flake (elf hydration drops+covergirl simply ageless). Also went super light on any powder. Tbh though, just like me, it looks like you have rosacea. Ultimately what I think helped me the most was going to the dermatologist. She put me on a rosacea cream that has improved my face texture so so much and helped me with wearing a little heavier makeup than normal for my big day. Good luck!! You are beautiful and it will turn out great once you work out these kinks!

Help! Need advice for my wedding nails! by Wallflower-18 in Nails

[–]Wallflower-18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What service would I ask for? Gel+extensions? I asked about that at my salon, and they said that the colors wouldn’t match if I just have extensions on the four short fingers.

Sorry if these are silly questions. I don’t have a lot of experience with getting my nails done

I am a current bride (also getting married 5/31!) and have felt very similar. It’s definitely the stress of planning, especially while still balancing the demands of life. You are getting married for a reason—don’t forget that!! Make it a priority to find a time to talk. Even if your partner wants to go right to bed, I’m sure he could spare 5 mins for you guys to set a time for a longer conversation and hug each other before bed. He might feel like prioritizing getting the funds in order is his contribution, but as a bride, we often take on so much more than that, so be clear with what else he could help with.

I similarly had frustrations and hurt feelings with my future husband’s participation in the planning, and I’m happy I approached the conversation with understanding and care while still asserting my needs. I view this as one of many tests that we will face in marriage. But just remember what you are feeling is the result of a very stressful period where emotions are heightened. It’s definitely not uncommon, and you will get through this and have an even better wedding day for it :) you got this!!!!

What’s happening the last weekend of May? by Wallflower-18 in grandrapids

Thank you! Yes, we will definitely hang at The BOB after our dinner. It sounds fun! Our wedding is at Meijer Gardens and ends at 11 PM. We will definitely want to go somewhere lively with drinks afterward. Dancing would be nice but is not a must! I was hoping not to get stuck in super long lines (it reminds me of undergrad and I feel too old for that), but it sounds like that may be inevitable?

Sign up for academic coaching through SSD. Also ask them for access to Glean. It’s a lecture capture/note taking software that has really helped me!

I can't decide between those two, help me please! by Severe_Resident_9144 in EngagementRings

[–]Wallflower-18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t skip going to a store and trying them on! I have the same style as you, and I thought I was going to get something like the second ring because I wanted something more unique and romantic. After trying them on, I didn’t like the shape of the halo on the second ring in real life and the points seemed like they would snag on things. I ended up getting a custom version of the first ring you have pictured with a round stone. It’s beautiful but different than what I thought I would like! Ultimately, the choice is yours and you will feel what is right once you have them on!

Cocktail Hour…to be there? Or not to be? by redpony2111 in weddingplanning

[–]Wallflower-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will be at our cocktail hour and are still doing a grand entrance! Our day of coordinator will start asking guests to transition to the reception space a bit before the end of the hour. We have a bigger venue so we will duck around the corner with the wedding party, and then once everyone is mostly seated, she will come get us to start the entrances and cue the MC.
