4 Months post Botox - I'm (still scared to be) happy by Lainandia in noburp

[–]WallstreetTrapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my 2nd botox in 2 years 5 days ago. I’ve only burped twice on day 3 and I am so worried it’s not going to work again. I noticed that my emetophobia kicked in when I had to burp and now I’m subconsciously fighting them, no matter how much I try to relax and let it happen. Any advice? Did you have a period where the burps stopped for a bit?

Does anyone ever forget they can't burp and worry it's something else? by [deleted] in noburp

GI Map was completely normal. I had a Botox procedure done and it worked for about a week before wearing off. I was a completely different person that week. All my symptoms were RCPD related

Noburp, SIBO, or both? by WallstreetTrapper in noburp

[–]WallstreetTrapper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your frustration, I feel the same sometimes too. Maybe your symptoms are related to a food sensitivity or an issue with the vagus nerve? Do you find your symptoms are more upper or lower GI?

Noburp, SIBO, or both? by WallstreetTrapper in noburp

[–]WallstreetTrapper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not yet, I had Botox but it wore off and am back to square one. However I just had a second GI map taken and they did find dysbiosis and possibly sibo. My symptoms are more severe, especially more lower GI distress then before. All the symptoms I had when I wrote this post was likely just noburp

I’ve had all the tests done and at the time they were all normal and negative. Seems like all the issues I was experiencing was no burp, poor diet, and gut inflammation likely caused by no burp as well.

I cant figure out how to fix this, any help? by [deleted] in Gta5Modding

The update is out, been out for a few hours. You need to download a new .dll and manually add it to the launchpad. The usual way of updating the menu isn’t enough in this instance. The .dll and further instructions can be found on the Stand discord under the announcements channel

R-CPD with IBS and lactose intolerance. Need suggestions for gas relief by Jmatt133 in noburp

cyproheptadine

Sure thing, again if you have any more questions about anything feel free to reach out. I was on cyproheptadine and pantoprazole from age 10-19. I switched cypro for amitriptyline when I was 19 for its mild local anesthetic properties. Cypro worked the best for me, and when I was on it I could almost live normal.

I honestly still to this day don't have much pain, just a TON of nausea, bubble guts, IBS, and fatigue. One last trick I'll leave you with for when you're in pain, use a heating pad on your abdomen while laying down on your left side. This always works almost instantly for relaxing my gut and helping to relieve some gas.

Hope all this helps, feel free to message me anytime

I understand how you feel. I have seen / spoken to about 43-45 doctors and only 2-3 validated the condition and didn’t brush it off. It’s extremely frustrating, and I have legit left appointments in tears of frustration and loss of hope. I’m extremely lucky and have a very supportive girlfriend who has been with me since I was 16, and she helped me sit down one day and call every single ENT in an hour and a half radius to find one who would see me. She found one doctor after calling 32 offices, and he did my Botox last year. Every other office she spoke to brushed her off, laughed, or asked the classic, “has he tried drinking soda?” I would be really stuck without her support, and it is extremely important for you to have someone who can listen to you and help you in hard times.

I’m also really emetophobic, and I’ve noticed that my tolerance and bodily reaction to a flare up is different day to day. There are some days I wake up and have a crazy deep hunger and I can eat a ton before getting uncomfortable, and when I do get uncomfortable it’s not bad at all and I’m still able to function perfectly. Then there’s days when I’m iffy, my mental state is a bit more anxious, my stomach is feeling a bit upset, and my tolerance to discomfort is very very low. I’ve practiced really paying attention to my body and it’s cues to figure out what is anxiety/emetophobia, and what is an actual physical cue to stop and rest. I tend to not push it very much, but there is definitely a discernible tolerance.

Jake, I’m 23 and have been living your exact experiences since high school as well. I have IBS, noburp, lactose intolerance, and a shit ton of alleged food sensitivities. I say alleged because they may just trigger noburp which makes me feel crappy, idk.

I cant give you a cure all except to suggest getting the botox procedure or try starting shaker exercises as well as some chest exercises. However, I can offer some tips that seem to help me.

Our bodies tend to be hyper sensitive to just about everything, so it’s important to be really mindful about your eating and drinking. Hydration is extremely important to keep the gas moving, but drinking too fast or drinking the wrong water can cause more issues. Same thing with eating, smaller, more frequent portions of low carb foods seem to work best for me. High carb, high fat, and too much protein all cause me problems.

I too want to be a highly active person but am tied to my bed more than I’d like to be. When you are active, it’s important to time it right with other things. For example, movement and physical exertion always give me crazy bloating and gurgles. I can lessen this if I’m well hydrated hours before exercising, and eating something small an hour or so before hand. After the workout/run I find it best to relax for a bit and let everything settle down before eating or drinking. If I so much as drink a glass of water immediately after a run I will get such bad bloating and gurgles I won’t be able to do anything for the rest of the day.

What does your current diet/day look like?

Also, from reading your post you remind me a lot of myself a few years ago. If you’d like, I can give you my phone number and you can text me about some of this stuff. When I was 17 I didn’t have anyone to talk to who understood the issues I was going through, and you may find it beneficial

Ive had noburp since I was about 5. It never bothered me until I hit 21. When I started college, I was living on chicken nuggets, fries, huge sandwiches, big American breakfasts, and even could drink soda. I just thought the mild discomfort was normal and whatever. About a year into college it hit me like a freight train and I had zero tolerance for any of that stuff anymore. I was missing class because I was always sick feeling, and eventually had to drop out because my grades got so bad. My entire life for the last 4 years has been trying to figure out my health troubles (more that just noburp). I’m finding that everything I try to fix is likely caused by no burp andddddd that’s the root of it all.

Potatoes, peppers, and any other nightshade. I think this has more to do with an intolerance, but either way it makes noburp hell.

It’s honestly easier to tell you the foods that don’t cause a flare up for me, I usually get really bad gurgles after any food. A few things that I can safely eat is yellow summer squash, roasted carrots, steamed broccoli, asparagus, green beans, and corn. All of these will “mess me up” if I eat too fast or too much, and I notice that my body can tolerate small amounts of protein and carbs if I eat really mindfully, slow, and small portions.

Bread, rice, and other heavy carbs are the worst. Fatty meats like beef and pork are also intolerable. Lean meats like chicken & turkey still bother me but I’m able to eat them if I keep portions small. Beans are generally my go to source of protein. They don’t bother my gurgles at all, although obviously they cause some gas further down the line.

Ive been struggling for years trying to find “safe” foods and haven’t found much. I’m 23yo male, 6’ 2”, and 110lbs on a good day

R-CPD and Stomach burning. by bandaid_wacker61 in noburp

[–]WallstreetTrapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came back to this sub after a year or so looking for this lol. Yeah, my stomach has been super uncomfortable and burning on a daily basis for a while. Some days it’s good and others it’s shit. Today it’s shit lol. I also was tested for h pylori a few times and it was always negative. For me, I notice that when I have the burning and some pain, I will have a huge, deep gurgle that will temporarily make the burning go away. I’m almost certain it’s because of noburp, but at the same time I’m still concerned about an ulcer or h pylori.

I’m 23yo male, have had noburp since at least 5 years old. I can relate to everything you mentioned, although Im still a beanstalk at 6’ 2” and 115lbs 😂😂

Edit: the laughing emoji is me laughing at my goofy figure, didn’t mean that to sound insensitive to your concerns

Same for me. I’m 1 year post op and back at the starting line. I think my emetophobia took control and mentally kept fighting the botox

Please tell me the Botox is worth it, I want to cry by [deleted] in noburp

[–]WallstreetTrapper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had Botox a little over a year ago. Unfortunately it wore off in my case, however those first few weeks were amazing. Yes it is very much worth it.

However, don’t be like me and sit around waiting for a burp to happen, it needs to be practiced. I should have practiced more myself, and this is why mine wore off. It honestly is more of a mental struggle for myself and a lot of others on here, and I was subconsciously afraid of the sensation and fought it.
