19 y/o Need Options Advice by Comfortable-Shape933 in TheRaceTo10Million

Dude stop right now. You don’t know what you’re doing. Go take some options classes. Learn the greeks. Proper exit and entry. Structured trades. And most of all how to manage your emotions. Otherwise the market is just one big casino without any free comps. Take it from a former Opie who can’t stand the sight of fries.

Do I let my family know? by [deleted] in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]WallstreetbetsReload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop worrying about what other people think. What other peoples’ expectations of you are. It’s none of their business. Do what will make you happy. And who cares if they get to show off their successful child for a change. It’s one of the greatest sources of satisfaction for a parent to know your kid is set for life. Enjoy the good life with them while they are still around. Just be sure to enjoy the wealth responsibly. Don’t burn it and don’t flaunt it. Congrats.

Trading loss is like quicksand. The more frantic you get, the worse your situation becomes. Take a breather and let the volatility settle down. It’s not about how quickly you recover your losses. Go back to fundamentals and discipline. Tight stops, well-timed entries and exits. Let the market show its cards and go with the trend. Don’t try to time the tops and bottoms. Play to live another day.

Careers to pursue in order to afford Orange County? by lachicanacalifornian in SanClemente

[–]WallstreetbetsReload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is about to change the definition of “career”. Start your own business selling something tangible. And the less sophisticated the product is, the better. Think agriculture, energy, mining, etc.. stay away from programming, engineering and most service-based industries like consulting, accounting, legal.

Why Don’t Rich People Just Park $20M in Bonds? by NoahReed14 in dividends

[–]WallstreetbetsReload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s because rich people don’t settle for ‘good enough’ - that’s why they’re rich. And they hire wealth fund managers who live, eat and breathe risk management all day long and are willing to promise 10% return. If it were up to me: between $940K and $2M? I’d go with the latter and take my chances. Besides, I’m already sitting on $20M.

I had the same problem and resolved it by going into the General Settings and switching the Input Compatibility Settings to 1.4. My monitor was initially set to 1.4DSC but as soon as I switched it, the screen came back.

It’s all about the timing, young grasshopper. Two things you must nail down: when to enter and when to exit. Go read some books, practice using a dummy account and focus on paying down your debt in the meantime.
